Well after lurking off and on for quite a while, a couple of friends convinced me to go ahead and actually join and post. Don't know how often I will post though, as it seems lots of times Mods and I have differences of opinion, therefore half my posts disappear in places. ha ha

I recognize quite a few names here but don't know that many people know me any more since I rarely post any more. Used to posts a lot on RHT, back in the day, made the move to the refuge site while setting up CV and then there for a long time. I rarely post there any more, as explained above. <g> I post a little on OFC but also don't always seem to thrill those mods.

I tend to be a major defender of Clay and get really tired of the all the criticisms. Talk about others outside Clay and his friends and family and I'm fine, just don't like the BS about him and those he loves. I've been known to be banned a few times from Twop for defending him too much. Ah well, nasty board sometimes.

Got introduced to Clay by my then 5-year old GD who just had to see him on TV one night at my house, toward the end of AI. I had never seen or even heard of AI. Well I got hooked but didn't get on line for another year. But I caught all the big moments that I knew about through promos like RS mag, Leno, Kimmel, the World Series, Disney Xmas etc. Just had no idea about the huge stuff on the internet. One of the first things I did was found someone who was selling the entire AI Season 2 DVDs. Can't tell you how many times I have watched them in the last 3+ years. Then all the demos, HC videos, IT videos, and I was totally absorbed. Made a couple of NAT shows and many more since.

I am single (got rid of that big mistake in life many years ago). I have 2 grown daughters, plus 1 of the 2 son-in-laws that I feel I helped raise as he came around as a junior in high school and been here ever since. I have tons of grandkids (and I do mean tons -- 10). They are the lights of life, especially the first few who lived with me at various times in their infant and toddler stages.

Ok, that's way too much BS for anyone to have to read or care about.

Hello everyone!

My fandom began with "Take". I know that's become a cliche, but it really is the truth. My love and admiration grew each week and by finale night he owned my heart completely. I didn't discover the internet fandom until his Labor Day performance on the Today show. That's when I decided to google him and discovered there were thousands of women who had it just as bad as I did. Since then I've seen him in concert 24 times, most recently in Tampa and Orlando. My DH is my concert buddy, and the funny thing is that before Clay we'd only attended one concert together, and that was in 1968 when we were dating. We always used the excuse that we didn't like crowds! We are having the time of our lives and always eagerly anticipate the release of concert schedules so we can plan our next trip. I've been blessed to meet many wonderful fans on my journeys, and am pleased to see that many of them are members here.

I noticed that this board has many librarians and book lovers. I happen to fit both of those categories. I am a full time elementary school librarian and a part-time reference librarian at my municipal library. I''ve been an avid reader since "Dick and Jane" and even published two romance novels in the 80's. Before Clay, books were my greatest passion! I've been married for 38 years to the same guy, am the mother of 3 grown sons, 2 of which are happily married, and 1 of which provided me with 2 beautiful grandchildren. I am blessed with a profession I love, good health, a loving family, and the ability to support the greatest singer in the history of the world! Life is good!

Hi TOTLAK. I remember you from the RHT days. IIRC your name is an acronym for To Old To Love A Kid...or am I thinking of someone else?

I think you'll find this a different sort of place. I know I do.

ha ha, yup that's right. It was just way too much to type so everyone shortened it. Must say the first time or two I didn't even catch that they were talking to me. I hadn't been around that long and didn't realize how much everything was set to acronyms in Clayland. From that point on, I just started joining boards using it for my name instead of the full thing. Good to see you here. I noticed a lot of names from old days and other places.

I originally posted this on the main thread and realized this is where it should be.

Welcome to all of the newbies!!!

I love reading about all of you and your history with Clay.

I also fell in love with Clay Aiken on AI. On the final night when he lost to Ruben, my sister and I thought we lost him forever. I did an internet search and found The Clayboard. I was so happy to be able to find news about him. It did take me a long time to make a post, but have to admit, I am mostly a lurker. I am also a member at CV and the OFC, but have not made many posts on those boards.

My screeename comes from a store that I used to own with a similar name. At that time, I was not too creative but knew not to use my real name. My sister and I travel together and have been to many concerts (probably over 40). I live in New Jersey and like to go to his TV appearances on GMA.

I work at the Borgata and am hoping for another concert in our showrooom. I constantly check for a concert date there and will let you all know if it does happen.

I found my way here by the famous picture. The photographer is my friend and we were at that concert together. I don't know how much I will post, but can tell I will enjoy reading everyone's posts. I love Clay and am not into p;icking him apart for his hair or choice of clothing. I do not believe that RCA is out to get him.

I think I met Couchie in the Jimmy Kimmel line. My sister and I are in the OFC video. We have the matching Clay handbags.

Oopd. I think I put my into post in the wrong place, too. I'm bringing it over.

I am the Clayfan Formerly Known As vjm.

I decided to take on a new boardname here, just because everything else feels so fresh, why not me, too?

My new name is actully a mistake on my part...nothing new. I meant for it to be quackyvee, but made a semantic substitution and quacky became ducky. It works for me. Quacky (with its ducky substitute) is an affectionate nickname from my youth, but I am not telling that story. Vee is a nod to my former board name lest I forget from whence I came.

My Clay history.....

I've been following Clay since his audition aired on AI. I will never forget that night. I was in my bedroom, doing some mundane task (packing books? folding laundry? I'm not big on details), had AI on in the background, but wasn't really watching. I didn't know much about it the show at that time. I heard that voice, dropped what I was doing, sat on the edge of the bed, enthralled, and that was it. I was gone. I thought he was 3rd best in his group of 8, but never doubted he'd be back for the Wildcard. How could he not? I was naive about things then. And WC Night - well, that's when I knew he'd be around for the duration. I started reading the boards early, by coincidence. I was out the night of results show when Julia DaMato was eliminated, and when I got home, I couldn't get to the computer fast enough to see if I could find anything. Not that I thought Clay was vulnerable. I just needed to read about it. I Googled AI, clicked on sirlinksalot, and found a whole world out there that I never knew existed. There was so much more activity on Clay than any of the others that I was never worried about him. Even when he lost, I knew he'd be around. The interest was just too great to ignore. If anything, my interest has become stronger over the years.

The boards.... I followed FORT, TWOP, TTC, ATCA, but never posted at any of them. I found my first home in the HDD thread at RHT. I was all about the numbers :14: (There are some great angels here - yes, I am distractible) at that point. I avoided the rest of the board for the most part - too much drama for me. I joined the exodus of that group to CV, and remain invovled there with a low profile. There's a lot I appreciate about that board, and I will continue to support it, but I avoid the main discussion except on lighter topics. It's just too much work for me to think about what's OK to say, and what's an acceptable way to say it. I understand how that came to be and respect the intention, but it's better for me to stay out of it. I'm glad to be here. Thanks, JaMar.

I see Jamar, Bookluvr, ducky, and that wonderful N49 person who's new screen name I'll sadly never remember. :F_05BL17blowkiss: and I see a couple of folks from RHT that I haven't seen in ages either. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

I look forward to getting to know all of you, but I'm a bit shy so it may take me a while.

oh, um, Clay.. yep, I've been in lust ..err. I mean love with him and his voice since day one. :Thud:

Heh, this comment had me look at Bookwhore who is already a body guard - should have rename her postwhore! BWAH! I keed, I keed (tm asshole doggy style)

Look at your post counts - look at your designation - look at other's post counts look at their designations. You have somethingto aspire to now! I better start posting more if I hope to become a stylist before some of the newbies!

Hey, Dazaccent, another NJer here. I live in the great north though, but have a small "place" at the end of LBI - by the time you get off the island, I might as well be driving from home to AC. Guess I can meet you at Red Bank.

Hey Playbiller, I will be at Red Bank, New Brunswick and Morristown. Hope we can meet.

My name is Renate and I used to have a German accent. :cryingwlaughter: pfft..

Came to the states with my 2 sisters mumblemumblryears ago for one year to soak up the California sun in San Francisco!! :cryingwlaughter::cryingwlaughter:

Well, after marriage, two sons and longtime widowhood I'm still here. Taught at a wonderful school pre Kdg for many years near Sacramento and retired about a year ago. Am a beaming grandma of Brody, who's almost a month old now.

I discovered Clay towards the end of AI2, loved his singing and the whole package. Ok, package today has a whole different meaning. :eusa_whistle:

Have only been to 3 concerts...sob...and am overdosing on clack. :RedGuy:

I say go for it! Funny I've seen you posting over the years (RHT?) and never read it that way. And now of course that's it's been pointed out that's how I read it. Of course I "got" your name because ISY was always my favorite MOAM song. Many loved it after Clay performed it on the NAT but I loved it first *g*. Shades of TOA.

my favorite smiley... :wordpooper:

I think he's the best...I love the name...wordpooper, hee. I know many. I just wish I could change the words to something about NewStats so I could bring him to my baseball board. Anyone know how to do that sort of thing?

Anywho...Welcome, its nice to see you again, woo. Can I call you woo? :RedGuy:

It took me so long to get registered here I feel like an idiot. And not noticing I had made a slight error with my email address, kept typing in the secret thingee without success! I felt like I was at Ticketmaster! I didn't realize this board existed unil I followed Merrieeee's link then I recognised all the familiar names! So this is where you have all been hanging out Don't feel comfortable talking about myself, so will just say I am a widow living in S.Cal. The CB was the first board I joined, then ATCA, The Rebels (not for long as I didn't like the never ending insulting skits about Todd. Not that I like him but enough is enough already! then CV. I used to love CV but it became more of a coffee klatch so I usually stay at the CH. I of course belong to the OFC but only go there to read Clay's blogs. Do not like any board which disrespects him. I have no talents, but do appreciate everyone else's. I am off to read the board.
