ITA about the freaking yellow monster shirt! God, someone burn it quick! I hope he at least has a rotation of different shirts for that part of the show so that I'll get something other than that 3 sizes too big thing at one of my venues.

Shadylil speculated it might be Ruben's... :cryingwlaughter:

I think the yellow shirt is part of the schtick. Remember, he comes out with the balloon pants too. Fortunately, he rips them off. Too bad he can't rip that shirt off as well.

Because I'd love to see what's underneath it.

DurhamClayfan and I are in the Clay fog. We are so in love and just going around saying "we love him sooooo much." The show was fantastic but it's hard to name all the songs because the medleys were much longer than the JBT. The banter was just hilarious--we smiled and laughed until our faces hurt, and we are still smiling.

The last song was "Time of Your Life," and Clay acted like Ruben was doing it without letting him know they were going to, but that's BS. Anyway, they sounded fantastic together. Full songs--Clay sang Suspicious Minds, Mandy, When I See You Smile, and probably at least one more that we can't remember right now. Ruben sang Superstar, What's Going On, and some other stuff. Casey, the new back-up singer, sang "Natural Woman" and Quiana sang "I'm Every Woman."

They started with Ruben singing Flying Without Wings and then Clay interrupted and sang This is the Night, and they kept interrupting each other. At the end Clay sat on Ruben's lap and then Ruben dumped him on the floor.

For the 90s, Clay came in out in these big pants and did some rap type R & B songs and grabbed his crotch throughout and then ripped them off and had jeans underneath. He did some good dancing during the 90s. At the beginning of the 80s, Ruben was the Pastor of the Baptist Presbyterian Episcopal etc. church, and said that Faye had paid him $750 to heal her son. Then Clay came out wrapped in what Ruben said was swaddling clothes and said he had "lackofrhythmitis" and Ruben healed him. That bit went on and on and was hilarious.

Before that Ruben was trying to teach Clay to dance, and Clay was bad--other times when he wasn't thinking he was dancing fine and then he'd realize it and start to dance bad again. There were a lot of steps when Clay was singing backup and he did great, and seemed to enjoy it.

Meet and greet. He was so beautiful. He has gorgeous eyes and dark red stubble and dark red hair in RL. We all wanted to talk to him, not ask him questions, and he thought that was weird. He snarked at us a lot. He made eye contact and mesmerized me for life, as if I weren't already. It went too fast, and I never wanted it to end (more details when the spell has lifted a little), and we never wanted the concert to end either.

The audience was having lots of fun and dancing and laughing and clapping. I wish everyone could have been there.

Afterwards we looked for that restaurant but it was either closed or out of business and the entire fandom was at Friday's so we ate there but didn't see anyone from FCA. We were supposed to meet Desertrose at our seats, but those seats stayed empty, so I hope she upgraded as I never saw her. I sure hope she made it to the concert!

There was lot of funny stuff, the eye of the tiger claw--Clay said the 80s were macho and so he would sing first and he really held his own throughout. Lot of kidding each other and fake competition. And now we are fading so more to come.

jmh... GREAT recap! Thanks! I can't wait till my Reno/LA trip!!!

Thanks for all bringing pics and links! I LOVE the stool banter! It may be slapstick, but I roar when Ruben plops down on that stool. He does it so well, you'd never know he knew it was smaller. I sure hope the mics are better regulated by Reno. sometimes Clay was soft and sometimes they all were garbled. It's so nice to spend a Saturday downloading and watching clack again! I do hope Clay stops with the spikes, tho. I figure he's trying to bring back the AI vibe, but I really don't care for it. Just my taste! Love the man, sigh over the hair! LOL

luckiest... 0lsee...let's put together a fund to bribe Jerome to burn it! Just no, Clay!!!

That hair style is the "latest" style for men. Sort of chopped and messed up.

Love it.

So, I broke down and am stealing the neighbour's wireless connection...if he's not going to secure it, it's not my fault, right?

Hey, luckiest1 ,anyone who doesn't secure their network is asking to have others share it.

I've read that it is cool at night in Snoqualmie, cool enough to wear a jacket so I am praying that it was the heat and the sweat that lead to the donning of that awfully, way to big, bod disguising humongous shirt.

OK now I just have to tear myself away from this computer....too much to do before leaving for my first concert on Thursday.

Now I really, really want one of those black t-shirts. I wonder if there's any chance the OFC store will sell them.

I can get one for you in Reno if you let me know the size and your address.

:thbighug-1: 'll let you know, wanda. I'm checking with laughn for her opinion about the Windsor casino, which is where we'll be seeing our first show. She goes to lots of concerts there, and hopefully she'll be able to tell me if they typically sell concert merchandise there or not. If not, I may be paypalling you before Reno.

OK--Reno's a casino too--never thought about their not selling merchandise. However, I'm also going to NYC.

M & G report from deemer for Lucia, MsIdolfan (who were in the background)

Clothes... cargo shorts, sneakers with no laces, no socks, green checked shirt, western style with pearl snap buttons, wearing sunglasses on top of his head, he said it makes his hair look better.

Reason Ruben not at the OFC M&G's... security won't let him, (I'm guessing it's something to do with contest rules), but he can go to the charity ones. So, wants fans to know it's not because he doesn't want to be there, he does.

3 at the M&G, they didn't know the other person off-hand. Another person also won, but she also won the charity auction and she was told she had to choose, she couldn't do both, she chose the charity auction.

He signed Lucia's cd... Clay already knew she was looking for one (deemer had one in the car for her)

Signed msidolfan's LTS book... just opened book and signed on any old page, so she had to find it... Use your voice

Clay looked very thin, in a good mood.

He said there were a ton of cities booked already in Feb and March for the TnT tour... mentioned Memphis, Cleveland, Orlando

They also had a tidbit, maybe something new that will happen in the show tonight... he said they couldn't share it, but we would know right away when it happens.

I logged off right after the concert ended last night, and then signed on this morning only to read the Saga of Scarlett with bated breath. So glad she's okay after getting tossed out of the concert without her purse or cellphone. Rock on, babe!

Holy Crap! Just read about the clackdown and what they did to {{{Scarlett}}}. I said in the concert thread last night how much I appreciate what the clack gatherers do for us at the expense of their own personal concert experience. Clearly, sometimes that cost is even higher. Unbelievable that so-called security would put a woman in jeopardy that way regardless of what she was doing. Assholes. I did read about her presence of mind even in the face of all that and bow down to her nerves of steel. You are the woman!

On a happier note, that Phineas and Ferb clip is awesome! He's such a cutie and the song is great

(love the MOAM reference. LOL!)

Hee, I just watched P&F too! Very cute. smile.gif

Just read over at CH about Scarlett's saga. So glad she was found safely. Hope she feels up to checking in somewhere later to let us know what went down. Sounds horrible! {{{Scarlett}}}

Safe travels to all going to today's concert. Have fun!!!

ETA: Any word on whether the large yellow shirt made another appearance last night?

Yes on the BYS (big yellow shirt) shirt. He said he lost weight already on the tour - the shirt fit him when they started (at least I think that was last night, lol).

Such a quintessential Clay pose :flirtysmile3:

I just noticed on OFC that he last logged in 4 hours ago (first time in four weeks). Maybe he wanted to find out what happened to Scarlett, too.

That shirt will NEVER fit him. Ha.

Thanks for the reminder bottlecap on the show. Here is the Melbourne concert thread! Again, not sure if I'll be around. 3:00 Eastern time!

I'm glad Scarlett is safe, and word is that the tape that was smashed last night was blank! Hee.

Back to the Phineas & Ferb show!

I doubt Clay will mention it in concert. As good as he is about Clack, he's told us before that he can't override venue security if it comes down to it. I've seen it go both ways - where the security backed off after being told that Clay/Jerome had okayed it, and where they've stuck to their guns. Even though their methods were unconscionable and despicable and way out of proportion, the fact is they have 'right' on their side as far as the actual infraction goes. But how any reasonable person could look at Scarlett, look at the situation, and then put her out on the street with no belongings is beyond comprehension. I have no doubt Clay is just as appalled as we are over their treatment of a patron but I don't really think there is much he can (or should) do or say publicly about it.

I hope that today is a better day all around, and most especially for Scarlett and the others who were ejected yesterday. :bighug:

OK, I need some delightful minion to move this wherever it is needs to go if it needs to go somewhere. Concerts virgins who don't want to turn into sluts, avert your eyes!

Knowing I have an early flight Saturday, I go out on a date Thursday to prove I am still "with it" and "kicking". I am taken to Track 21 - which involves shooting teenage girls in LazerTag (they mainly stand around and scream and so make easy targets) and high speed go-karting. The next morning, shoulders and hips were mainly nonfunctional. I did my Gumby-walk for most of Friday, and decide to go to bed at 8 pm, get up at 3 am, pack, feed, water and fix the litter box, wash and dry some clothes to wear, look up where I'm going, check the boards, and leave in plenty of time for a 7:20am flight. After repeatedly assaulting the alarm clock, I get up at 5 am, say "oh shit", and start desperately scrabbling. By 6 am, the cats are fed, watered, and delittered, I've thrown dryer-hot underwear into my carryon, and I've printed my boarding pass. I figure I'll take no more than 5, yes, I said 5 to get the gist of what happened in Ashville, because technically I have a 40 minute drive from my apartment to the airport parking lot. I look up from watching Talk Stoop for the second time and my clock says, "6:30". Oops. I run out the door, toss the garbage bag in the trunk, my suitcase in the passenger seat and hit the gas. Am at the airport parking at 6:50, having obeyed all traffic laws in spirit. I make googly eyes at the parking lot driver who takes me straight to the terminal (he reassured me that other buses would pick up those people he passed), skitter across traffic into the terminal, down the blue carpet, through security and am at the gate at 7:08, which is twelve whole minutes before the plane takes off! They hadn't even shut the door! Of course they gate checked me and I left my sweater in my suitcase and froze my ass off for two hours, but that's beside the point. Waved at merrieeee about 6 rows back (her hair is cute anyhoo!) and off we went into the wild blue yonder. Landed. Sat on the tarmac for 20 freakin' minutes. They finally let us out the tin can they had us trapped in, we actually answered the phone when Kimiye and Tasapio called. Then PerusingOne plane landed, we picked up her suitcase, then we picked her up, and we wandered outside the terminal to look for Kimiye and Tasapio and we asked each other what we should be looking for and merrieeee said, "Well, how about that woman wildly waving her arms at us" which turned out to be Tasapio once I hugged her because I couldn't see since my glassed were immediately covered in fog. We managed to wedge ourselves in Kimiye's car and gave merrieeee several illicit thrills searching under her butt for various bits of seat belt since Kimiye assured us she wouldn't take the fall for seat belt noncompliance for us and went to locate 1) food and 2) a Best Buy. We took a picture of some sort of SuperBall stuck to a Best Buy sign because Kimiye apparently has artistic sensibilities and notices stuff like that. After driving across the fairly psychotic freeway system that is Jacksonville and I-95, we find our hotel and the normal temperature people (me and PO) were in one room, which we offered to share but oddly enough, everyone else went into the freezing cold room. At one point, we all wore the same dress and took pictures of ourselves in it, but I ended up wearing it to the concert.

Off we went, allowing Kimiye to lead because the rest of us hadn't actually paid any attention to where we were going because we know Kimiye is reponsible, and there is no point in having more than one responsible person in any party we are involved in. Even though Kimiye tried to park in a garage that said it was "FULL" even though it was clearly empty. We walk around the corner and sit across the street from the theater, which was sort of faux Art deco with a great big neon sign that DID NOT HAVE THE TIME ON IT at the MOMENT I asked (even though it appeared about 2 seconds later). Being experienced concert hos, we wait until the crowds clear, hit the potties, then hit our seats , 2nd row center.

Heading to Clearwater now - will give more recap later.

From CV, Lucia from Brazil

My Meet & Greet recap

It was awesome. I was really worried and nervous but Clay has the ability to put everyone at ease.

Our M&G took place at the first row of the theater, and there was only three of us, me, msidolfan, and another girl not on CV. First, we were chatting with the security guard and we told him we wanted Ruben to be at the M&G. He told us that some legal stuff on fan clubs does not allow him to participate, because it was Clay´s fan club.

When Jerome brought Clay, he (or the security) told us to stand, and Clay entered the room and said: - Don´t stand. I go: We already are standing. So he asked our names while giving us a big hug! The he asked where are you from. I told him I was from Brazil, and he seemed very surprised. He asked me when did I flew in and I told him today, and he asked me how long was the flight. When I told him 15 hours, he asked if I was going to other concerts, and told us Quiana was not feeling well and is was not going to sing tonight. Then we told him the new backup singer was very good, and he told us to wait and see what she was doing tonight, singing all hers and Quiana´s part in the last minute. He also told us not to tell people about Quiana.

He was wearing cargo shorts, a plaid blue shirt and the sneakers (the old ones, without the lace). He was also wearing sunglasses over the head, and he told us his hair looks better that way!

He told me that he had a very good friend whose parents lived in São Paulo, so he knew about my city. I told him I knew he had been to Brazil and about guarana. He told me it was very good. MSidolfan asked what´s guarana and he answered it´s a fruit from Amazon (I love my smart and intelligent boyfriend). . I told him I was running his fan club there and I gave him a pin and a key ring from the Brazilian fan club. He goes: Do I have a fan club there? We need to know these things because Decca is planning to release Tried &True internationally but this has to be a decision from people in each country. In Brazil it was Universal. I asked him can I help, and he said sure. You have to e-mail them and pressure them. And if they don't want it, it will be your fault (pointing his fingers at me). He is so cute.

Then he asked for items to sign and I told him he had no idea how hard it as for me to find the cd, because cablegirl was bringing the cd for me and she could not come. And he goes: - Oh, you´re the one looking for the CD. I only posted that on CV, so my conclusion was he or someone reads CV. And he told me he could have given me one. Then he asked my name and wanted to sign Stay True in Portuguese, so h asked me what it was. Then, he asked me to spell it. I told him: No, you´re not going to ask me to spell in English (spelling is very difficult for me). So he signed it in English!

Then he went to msidolfan and I am going to let her tell this part, it was hilarious! He is so cute!

He also told us he is touring next year, in February and March, and he already had some places booked (Cleveland, Greenville, Memphis, Miami, Orlando and others I cannot remember).

And when I told him I got some presents for him, Ruben, Jerome, Quiana, he wanted to make sure I had something for Casey (I did).

It was a dream comes true! Thanks OFC and Clay!

They just posted clack from Jacksonville....More Than A Feeling and LLVL. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee, hit those notes Clay!!!! And maybe by the end of the tour, he'll be throwing that yellow shirt over his shoulder like he used to do with the vest.........there is definitely a t-shirt under there.

I would love it if Clay switched in a full version of a power ballad like More than a Feeling or Alone for either Mandy or When I See You Smile. He sings the ever-loving crap out of both those snippets, and either one would raise the energy level of the set.

Dream On, I guess. :listen:
