Morning!

I still think the forgetting the words is just a bit in that song....if you watch him, he is mouthing the words as he has the audience sing...I think its his way of getting them involved...

but then I could be wrong...I often am....maybe.

STILL trying to get to California...and I am losing my mind...I have Greek tickets available to me, THIRD row San Diego, and Indio..and would have to sit out Pala as they do not allow anyone under 21...stupid casinos....problem is, I pretty much spent my $ on Houston/Tulsa. WHY do plane tickets have to be so much??????? I really really really really want to go...someone there I want to meet too..and she already is lining up all the hotel rooms AND driving....sigh...why wasnt I born rich instead of whatever I was born as...lol

and as much as dh was pissing me off yesterday when he got back from his little trip with his motorcycle buddies, I became even more determined....I need the happy.....

Perhaps it is time to get ready for Philly.

BREAK OUT THE BAND!!!!

music14.gif

music13.gifbird2.gifmusic12.gif

I love this band!!!! Hee.

I think the medleys are set though.

I do too. As a matter of fact, I think the show itself is pretty much set. Maybe Jesse will have worked on another arrangement or two, but I think for the most part that Clay likes the show as it is.

And I've got to come in and support the TV medley. That thing is growing on me like crazy! IMO, the reason that a few people don't care for it is because they aren't familiar with the themes. Honestly, I was one of those as well. But darn it, Mr. Nick-at-Night (because you know that's the only way he could know these themes!) has made me really like these things. There's really some fantastic singing there, to me, and I'm thoroughly in love with gospel!Clay! during the Jefferson's theme. I now wake up in the morning and find myself singing some of these theme songs!

Its possible his hair got longer in 10 days...puhleeze...

Oh, I'm sure it is. But I've done some side-by-side comparisons of this concert hair and the Raleigh gala hair (shut.up.)....and to me, there's not a whole lot of difference! Just a little shorter for this tour.

CNN HN Showbiz Tonight just did a feature on celebrity fandom. I was kind of glad our fandom wasn't mentioned. We may be known as fanatic, but at least we're not top-tier fanatics, if that makes any sense. They focussed on fandom itself, while they showed pictures of the celebrities who are in the magazines all the time. It was interesting, actually. They mentioned that while Angelina Jolie was of huge interest to people, her latest movie tanked. People don't always buy the product of someone they worship primarily as a celebrity.

I would have liked to see that. Since I've been a fangirl since I was about 4, I'm fascinated by the process of fandom. If I had a chance, I'd love to write a Master's thesis on fandoms.

I hear ya, and feel for you. I know I just can't do the CA 4-fer. And yet, I'm itching to soooooo badly. Unfortunately, the airfares are way too much for me still.

I'm off for an all day meeting today. Have a great day y'all!

Me, too! Playbiller, I saved every single member of that band.

Messed up that quote -- but I agree with all of this. As Clay says, the audience will sing along -- and they have. Me, too, at odd moments throughout the day! :whistling-1:

STILL trying to get to California!

Wishing you the best! :)

Yay for Philly - one more sleep for you guys!!! :Tour3:

Have an awesome day, FCA! th_bubblesmileyrev.gif

I'm baaaaaaaack!!!!! 4 days is too long to spend with kids. Although it is nice that they have a Delta Connection and was able to fly us for free.

1st order of importance is to wish jmh123 a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Some of you sports enthusiasts might be interested that we attended a game between the Atlanta Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates at the Atlanta stadium. It is nice to have kids with connections. Too bad those connections don't include front row seats or m&g with Clay. We sat practically on the field. Right behind the visitor dugout, about 4 rows up, or so. I heard we got a lot of face time on the TV. I sure hope I wasn't caught picking my nose. I'm sure I did that at least once. LOL Seriously , I have a bad scabby sore inside my right nostril. I guess I got it from dry air in the house or something. Hurts like hell. Braves won 5 to 4 after having an hour rain delay. We left our seats and went to the "special 755 Club" or whatever the heck they call it, when the rain started. We hung around for awhile then decided to leave. I'm not a baseball fan, but I managed to enjoy myself anyway.

We also went to the newly opened Coca Cola museum. It was very interesting as well. They had a red couch there, and it looked like the one the kids sit on before they go out to sing on AI. I took pictures. They had an Andy Warhol picture collection on loan to them, but we were not allowed to take photographs of it. Some good stuff. I like his work. I will post some pics later after I get them downloaded.

We also went to the Georgia Aquarium. It was fun too. I love penguins and I got to see some. I took a video and pictures. Lots of interesting fish to see. I took some pics to use for my wallpaper. All in all, Atlanta is a lovely city and I was impressed with the Bank Of America building downtown. We were in midtown and could see it from the balcony. The top lights up at night and it is breath taking, to me. I love great architecture. We walked around and stopped at a little cafe. Dropped 100.00 bill, and change, for an early dinner for 3. Things are a little pricey in Atlanta. That is compared to where I live. I'm sure it ranks about the same as other big cities.

I've been reading and trying to catch up, but I am suffering with severe low back pain and must get medicated before I can sit here any longer. I'm so happy to be home in my own bed with my own computer. I would love to have a laptop, but boy, it sure does takes a lot to get used to. Hee I really missed my mouse. LOL I'm sure, though, that once I got used to using a laptop, I would never go back to a regular computer.

I haven't really had a lot of free time to watch much clack. I haven't watched any from Frisco or Houston, that I recall. I did watch a few from Tulsa to relive my wonderful concert experience. Maybe someone could give me a list of the best of the best ones that shouldn't be missed. :eusa_whistle:

Glad cha cha's kids are doing okay on their adventure. I don't see Clay changing much of anything on the remainder of his tour. He does what he wants to do, usually, regardless of feedback. LOL MOST of the time, that is. He has made some small changes in the past, but he usually does what he wants. muskifest, I'm sorry about your home maintenance problems. I can feel for you and relate. However as Claygasm? stated, concrete slab floors are all the rage. There are so many wonderful ways they can put designs into them, give them some texture, and paint them to look wonderful. Lots of restaurants are doing this too. Throw down some area rugs and wallah. Chic.

keepingfaith thank you for a wonderful recap. I read it and commented on it. I also want to thank you for the nicest compliments you have given me, through PMs and on the boards. :F_05BL17blowkiss: The pleasure was all mine. lightmyfire I hope you enjoy your concert, when it comes around. I hope it will be as exciting for you as ours was. I hope you will post here and give us a recap.

I'll be back later when I get my pain managed, and share some pictures. I don't want to mess up the main linear thread with off topic stuff, so where would the admins suggest I post my pictures?

ETA: Is it too much to ask for, God, if just once I could make a post without having to edit for typos and spelling error? If I could see them all when I first proof read and hit submit?

I know long-range weather forecasts don't really mean much, but I just checked out the predictions for the upcoming week-end for the venue cities in my area, and things look good so far! Fingers crossed for the upcoming Philly and NY outside venues this week, too! Safe travels, y'all and happy Clacking.

Clayzorback, I know you will be shocked, SHOCKED, I tell ya - but I personally don't do a lot of editing. I have decided any mistakes I make are local color. Or dialect. Or voice. Or something like that. I knew I should have staying awake in English. That's the ticket!

Eeeee! This time tomorrow I will be winging my way to Philly - the big chunky Ace bandage and surgical boot is off my foot (down to a sweltve ankle wrap thingie) and (KAndre wraps herself in a green velvet curtain...) As God is my witness, I will finish my recap today!

BTW, I am finding Scarlett's and her minions' clack to be excessively nice. Of course, now I want all the rest of it. Not impatient. Not me. No no no.

Clay4shore, Scarlett's stuff show be up at CH, CV and Clack Unlimited.

Oooo, and muski, don't forget I've got your binoculars - push comes to shove, I'll leave 'em with couchie.

I did a bit of mapquesting and weather forecasting. Looks like 30% chance of thunderstorms for Syracuse (but it won't matter because it's indoors), then fine for Canandaigua and Chautauqua. But again, I think both of them are mainly covered, anyways.

Safe travels to everyone going to Philly tomorrow! I am not sure how I'm supposed to work when all I can think about is Syracuse.....

Edited to repeat my offer to purchase a numbered poster for anyone who isn't going to have a chance to get to a concert this tour, or is concerned about them selling out before their concert. Just PM me.

From rcknrllmom at CV:

Just wanted to share how pretty the poster looks matted and framed!

Ok, I admit it, I went to the Idol Musical play last Thursday night. You know what they say about if you can't say anything nice? That's part of the reason I have not talked about it. The other is that Matt Ehlers bagged two of us outside the theater before the show and asked us for comments when the show was over. I didn't want to comment until his story was out there because he said he was going to quote me. My opinion of the press and media has always been pretty poor, so didn't expect much out of this one either. He promised to call me and read my quote before using it, and he did do that. Will give him credit for that, and the age thing is reporting what he sees. But CRAZY??? Whatchoo talkin' about Matt??? !!! :o

Generally, it was amateur night. Kids in the cast were trying so hard and they had loads of talent, but needed a better plot, direction, music and production. Other than that, the play might have been ..oh I don't know...maybe a little entertaining? It was a full house the night I was there, the audience was very mixed with young twenty somethings, middle aged and older people. Some might have had friends/relatives in the cast. The audience was appreciative of their efforts. Nobody left that I saw. I got in for free; doubt I'd pay.

When I spoke to Matt, I suggested that there were so many disconnects between fantasy and reality and so many ironies involved with the plot and the author's use of Clay as a cohesive theme for the play, that it almost looked like they had an idea to make a buck with a play and devised a way to use Clay to help them out. I also told him the play was so full of Clay information that only die hard fans from message boards would understand it, and because of that, I didn't see it as very commercial. That's what he put in there and it is how I saw it.

ETA: HELP what do I need to play Scarlett's videos. I want to see HER perspective of Clay catching her in the act. Never mind..I downloaded the codec eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

clay4shore...and what codec might this be? I'm flummoxed!

Where's georgia? I haven't seen her posts for like forever? She okay?

keepingfaith...I'm overcome by your recap and am oh-so-happy that it was 'good for you' your first time. Nobody's personal opinion can or should muddy those waters of Clayfog....I'm so glad I got a chance to meet you and spend some time with you. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

It's great to catch up a bit....ironic that I'm doing it here at work...hee! In early this morning and figuring out what's gonna go on this week----moving offices about four blocks...Yikes! That means I have to get my printed out "Nothing But the Truth" safely tucked away in a box underneath some meaningless, less valuable documents! :scream: Right now I have office SPACE in a big room with two other people...more than a cubicle, less than a private office....In the new space I'll have my own office...I need to make sure my desk is positioned so that nobody can see what's on my computer monitor when they walk by or come in... ^_^

Thanks for the hugs re: our financial and floor woes. I think we'll be dealing with floors later. Just can't swing the new ones right now....Maybe I'll get Carrie to do some of her awesome artwork on them!

Short week this week---Carrie's team plays in South Lake Tahoe in their last tournament before the Nationals...we'll go there Friday, so I took a comp day that day...we're playing a game Friday night AND have been asked to play an 'Under 14" team Sat. afternoon! (We're Under 12)....should be fun.

I have a big map of the US on the wall in front of me and looking at it I started thinking about the wonderful women I've come to know from all over that big ole' place. And all because of Clay Aiken....

Lousy hair? I love him.

Baggy pants? I love him.

Wandering feet? I love him.

Forgetful brain? I love him.

Funky faces while singing? I love him.

He's genuine and flawed and I swear it's like he creates ripples of love that make whomever they reach--and whoever is willing to accept them---just...better for knowing him. And I love him.

Love you women, too! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Sounds like you all need another Idol the Musical review.

Playbiller and I went to the show Saturday evening. We walked the wrong way on 45th and by the time we actually found an address on a building, we were four city blocks in the wrong direction. When we found the theatre we noticed people standing outside so we wondered whether we should go in. We did. As we entered the theatre we saw a bunch of people standing against the walls. They were actually waiting for a seat.

Upon entering the room where the play was going to take place we had a difficult time finding two seats together and this was half an hour before the play began. We finally found two seats in the front row near a pole on the stage. Other than a few single seats there was an entire row with reserved signs on the seats. Unfortunately people we didn't recognize sat in the seats.

As Playbiller said we looked at feet a lot. It would have been better to sit a little further away. The actors were the originals from Syracuse. They sang good and some could dance as well. The acting was so so. I was also hoping that the statue of their idol would have been great so that I could take a picture with my phone, but it was a rough drawing of Clay, although life sized.

The songs were so so with Quakin for Aiken being the best in my mind. The script was just not funny. There was a lot of clay centric words, including claycentric and claygasm. Maybe I'm just getting tired of them. The audience, however howled at some of them. We couldn't hear the final lines because of the cast busting out in giggles, so I'm not sure what the moral of the story was. But I guess it was "be yourself."

As far as being a play for children, some lines should be changed as well as some of the dance moves in order to appeal to small kids. A word to the wise, don't sit near the pole as this is where the masturbation action takes place. Upside down.

It was a pleasant evening with some sweet scenes but I couldn't honestly say it was worth what we paid for tickets. I hope having a more professional cast will help.

I hope I can see some of our FCAers coming to Philly. I know most will be with the CH group, so I may not.... Speaking of FCAers going to Philly, where has Divayenta been? I haven't seen her around these parts in ages and I so hoped I would get to meet her when she's in town.

Oh Diva!! Where art thou??? (Thought I would insert a little culture round these parts... Hee.)

Now I have to go do the thousands of things I have to do today. Damn I hate that I have to go back to work on Thursday! I am soooo not ready for that!

Later gators!

Question to anyone who bought a poster so far this tour: Where did you buy it (what venue)? What is the number on it? Just trying to figure out if the numbers are sequential from Frisco to Tulsa and how many might possibly be left.

ETA: Thanks, rcknrllmom.

Hee, I just had a call from luckiestdaughter in NYC. When I asked her how she enjoyed Idol: The Musical she laughed and said "well, it was something! It was funny in parts, but I wouldn't see it again". Hopefully I'll get more detail out of her when she gets home.

Thanks for sharing your Idol: The Musical reviews. Sounds like a fun idea imperfectly executed. I'm glad it's not derogatory toward Clay or his fans, but judging from the response, it seems like this play is unlikely to make it far. Which is no big deal. A lot of plays and musicals don't make it. The premise and title of the show are enough to draw some interest and press, but if the show isn't that good, I just don't know if it will have the financial backing to make it to the bigger stage. It's one thing to fill up a 100 seat theatre on a weekend. It's another to fill 1500 seat venues day in, day out.

It's interesting to hear about what the "target audience" for this show is supposed to be. My guess is that the show is directed toward the Idol audience, which is fairly broad. However, with ticket prices as high as they are ($60), I don't see teens or kids as their specific market. Maybe it's trying to capture families looking for cheaper and more available alternatives to "Wicked," "Beauty and the Beast," or "The Lion King."

Quite frankly, I don't see this show having much impact on Clay's career, positively or negatively. There's been some press about it in relation to Clay, but it pretty much came and went pretty quickly. The airplane incident got more exposure than this. It's amusing that they chose Clay, of all idols, as the subject of fan worship. However, a single television appearance reaches more people than an off-broadway play in New York, no matter how long the run. Whether it succeeds or fails, Clay will be OK.

They started selling the posters in Houston and mine was numbered 335 (IIRC) out of 3000 and cost $20. The t-shirts are $25 and all of them are black. I love my STUFF!!!! And I love my beautiful picture of Clay in the cowboy hat from Ressamac, and I love my big poster of GMA September 2006 Clay that merrieeee printed and laminated, and the Houston pre-party poster that I so lusted after the moment I laid eyes on that picture of Clay!!

Muski and Claygasm .... thanks for your generous words and hope to see you again along the trail. :F_05BL17blowkiss:

No Cali or Philly for me this tour .... but I'm looking seriously at the state of Florida if I can get West Palm and Orlando tickets ... :Tour4:

I truly hope Clay doesn't give that man a single thought. I know I try not to.

I agree with you Jenna. I care about the show only in that it is being marketed to Clay's fans and an informed opinion of its worth - and that's all we have are people's opinions - is probably as important to people as any other Clay type knockoff which we normally spend lots of time investigating LOL. I don't necessarily listen to reviewers when judging whether I should see something -- but that's more true for a 10 movie than a 60 play.

I'm missing Georgia too. I hope she's ok.

Clay4shore - I ended up settling for Scarlett's wmv files. The others never did work for me. But I'm blind and really can't tell the difference anyway

Does anyone know how I get rid of the stupid google toolbar that downloaded with one of those codec files I think. It's like a roach..I've deleted everything google in my system and there it still is. Can't even turn it off.

Lawd Jesus.

Someone, quick! I need Clay's recipe for making lemonade out of lemons! :scream: My wonderful boss just took me to lunch and then told me that he's leaving.

shit.

He gave notice and has two weeks left. Since I'll be gone the week after next, he'll be gone by the time I get back from the So Cal concerts.

shit.

My job's not in any danger yet....in fact, I suppose if I had the balls, I could probably go into the executive director's office and "suggest" that I get a substantial raise. Lord knows he'd be in a pickle if I decided I "just can't stay here anymore!"...

But...but....my boss was the best! :cry4: ...there's one woman in this office who is the SOLE cause of three people resigning since I've been here! But the exec. dir.---no matter how many times he hears in exit interviews the truth---continues to let her run free. Nobody can stand her. She and I locked horns early on, but since they restructured and added my boss' position last year, he's been a buffer and I haven't had to deal so directly with her...

This should be interesting... <_< Our BIG conference (around 2,000 attendees) is in November---now the Dir. of Operations (my boss) will be gone, the bitch is having a baby any day and so who knows what role she'll have...

:what_d_fuck:

Well, on the floor front at Claygasm's urging, I've decided to be avant garde and have concrete floors as a fashion statement for a while. Might have Carrie do some art interpretation on them...might try an acid wash for that natural stone look...might draw a mini soccer field and get some exercise indoors...

whatever.

Or....I might just go on a bender. :12:
