playbiller
Sp this would work in a video with Clay singing in a darkened corner and a main scene between two dancers, one tall skinny and currently blonde
ldyjocelyn
Time to dance again... Falling

Cotton
OMG! 5 falling I am currently lovin’ “Falling”! Actually - In Love with it! It seems to me to be evocative of Phantom of the Opera somehow even though it ROCKS OUT! I love the lyrics, the “dream-falling” imagery, the vocal-effect/distortion they do in the middle part, the drum/guitar percussion . . . and HOLY CRAP, HIS VOICE! and the simple guiltar picking ending. LOVE it! And what’s that fluttering bbbrrrrdddtt percussion sounds that comes through every so often. I like it!
Ansamcw
Like the guitar in the opening... sounds like someone in the midst of depression or something
Claygasm
This is another that is growing on me. There are some interesting "effects" in the production of this one and I can't decide if I like them or not.
cagney1950
I hear the term "processed" to describe what they do to voices on records, I never understood what this meant, but I think this might be what I am hearing in the beginning of falling. KAndre
THIS IS MY JAM! And any bitches in concert who don't move their asses in concerts will be mocked unmercifully. And anyone doing devil horns will be mocked period.
ldyjocelyn
Ansa, yeah I do get a bit of a Touch vibe from the beginning. Maybe that's why I'm not all that enamored of this song. *ducks from Touch lover CG*
laljeterfan
Well, I regret to say that if someone put a gun to my head and FORCED me to pick my least favorite on the CD, this would be it. The first time I heard the robotica part, I was just kind of.... WTF?
muskifest
You know.....his vocal range really gets a workout in these songs, but he's so fuckin' GOOD that it's not something that screams out at the listener... Wonder what the range is in this song....
duckyvee
This is a favorite for me!
KAndre
Scarlett is now mocking my pitiful attempts at the Vulcan salute!
annabear
I'm still not sure I really like that part where they synth his voice....
duckyvee
I get a Simple Minds vibe in the beginning of this song, only much better.
Cotton
When Clay did Invisible in the AI concert, there was a 'robotica' part. I always hated that they quit doing it. I think it fits this song! ETA: so am I the only one who gets a Phantom of the Opera vibe? I think it's deepvoice Clay that does it to me.
atinal
Ansa, I do think the beginning sounds similar to Touch

luckiest1
Falling I agree the opening is reminiscent of Touch. Me likey! My only complaint about this song is that it is too short! I always have to hit repeat. Love the low tones in the first couple of lines. I'm older, should be wiser, still I never seem to learn. Yep, check. LOL Love the chorus, it's so catchy, makes me want to sing along, and again, like EIDN, roll down the windows. A taste of bittersweet. Love that line. Come back and wake me up again, I can't face this world alone In my dream I was......I need to look up these lyrics, I don't know what he is singing, just know I like it. But I love the cool effect here, I know not everyone does, but it makes it sound......I don't know........current? Contemporary? Not that stuff like that usually matters to me, but it works in this song, for me. Does this have a name? Cool ending, too.
Ansamcw
Well I was expecting CG to comment on that...our resident touch expert...hee its really weird that this song is so lively and yet has a rather dark theme. KAndre I will dance with you during concerts... Hey I end up bopping to most of these songs...
duckyvee
Ansa, I do think the beginning sounds similar to Touch Oh, I don't like Touch.
Gibby
OMG, I could go on and on and on about how fantastic this arrangement is. I LOVE the instrumentation! There are several places where only the guitar plays, but slides from one chord to the next, which gives a really cool effect. When the guitar plays alone, it's pretty quiet. Then the whole band comes in and rocks out! It's a great effect. SUBITO FORTE!!!!!! (suddenly loud) And the electronic effects are tooooo cool. And wow, Clay's low register is wonderful! He sings down to a C below middle C, and it's sexay. Despite what reviewers say, I think he DOES know how to vocally rock out. Yeah, he's not all gravelly, but he uses his voice in a rock style, anyway. Yeah, I LOVE this song!!
KAndre
I strongly dislike the synthy thingie! I will so bring my JPOP collection to LA to techno-vert you!!!! L'Arc-En-Ciel rules!!!!
