KAndre eyes duckyvee with deep suspicion...

Y'all know what? I met SOMEBODY at the concert yesterday who CLAIMED they didn't post anywhere! It was a poultry type person! Hmmm, who could it be? Heh.

I do admire all you creative types for putting yourselves out there to entertain me lots of people. Just remember, I'm shallow and insensitive. You know perfectly well if I get a M&G, deep questions will not be in the offing. Flirting will.

My freakin' bedroom computer's hard drive has catastrophically failed...it won't even start the stupid bios...happily my 4 external hard drives are all perfectly fine.

I'm wondering though, reading what CG said, maybe creative types just need more stimulation than us cheerfully bourgeoisie types? I occasionally like static presentations...like the Hope diamond. I liked that a LOT. And was frankly annoyed when it moved. It was pretty and shiny just like Clay. And I stood there just for a teensy while to look at it. Though it looks lickable just like Clay. Only it doesn't sing. I'm willing to live with that. BTW, I'm starting a petition that since the Hope is a national treasure, we should get turns to wear it. And I am willing to take y'all's turns since y'all don't like to be all ostentatious and stuff.

As for the total crazy for Clay - I'm dragging my butt up to fuckin' Michigan. In December. Hell, I wouldn't do that for someone I was sleeping with. Though I will be sleeping with the people (Scarlett) who talked me into this. There will be FROZEN WATER outside! Do you know how unnatural that is? Did someone tell Clay? Somebody should tell Clay about South Florida or South Texas. There is NOT frozen water outside in those places.

What I find interesting about Clay foray into fan stories is how he has said more than once that everyone has a story. I think he thought it would be fascinating to hear some of his fans' stories. He got his wish... and then some... LOL! But, I do bet he read every one of them. Probably wearily after awhile, but I'll just bet he read them all. One of his charms is how he looks at everyone like they are fascinating people and ... what a fascinating man he himself is!

And, the M&G's are to him, probably, a chance to meet interesting people who can entertain him or challenge him. Who is going to show themselves to be fun/interesting? That's why boring questions turn him off. That's one of the reasons working with children with disabilities worked so well for him... it was always interesting, touching, challenging. I LUV HIM!!!

KAndre...

I want to sincerely thank you for your selfless offer to take my turn! I have a tear in my eye!!! (from laughter) sniff!

I *think* you are going to Minnesota. :whistling-1: At least, that's my guess as the OFC doesn't list any more Michigan dates, or do you have a secret?

ETA: slowandeasy's Kalamazoo AIW gives a panoramic view of the stage with a great light show at the end!

I think someone's in denial because I believe the last time she said Minnesota, it was back in June and the sentence went something like, "I don't care if you can get me front row center. You can give those away because I.am.not.going.to.Minnesota.in.December!"

{{{KAndre}}} If it makes you feel any better, I promise not to open any windows this time. (Nor turn the thermostat down to 65 in the middle of the night, pinkie-swear!)

Yeah, those dancing bananas & things are a lot more stimulating than the Hope diamond.

I just tried to view the DC Sampler and it cut out after 5 seconds!! Has anyone else experienced this problem? It's supposed to be almost 4 minutes long!!

I'd appreciate some feedback on this!

Turns out youtube has a thing called a "remixer" -- so I just dragged that vid in there and remixed it. I hope that will fix the problem!!

--

And here's the "remixed" one....... well - it's not finished "processing" yet...... I'll post it if it ever shows up!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Only have time for a drive by after taking an hour to catch up .....

KAndre, shift your gaze and back away from the Hope diamond! As your minion I must remind you that the reason it's in the Smithsonian is because it's so cursed nobody wants to wear the blasted thing! Just be thankful that ring is not in your possession and you don't have to bear such a burden.

I want to go to Diva's sleepover, I have my Clay Aiken nightshirt with the AIW folded arms dreamy picture of him on the front that says Another Night with Clay Aiken / Sweet Dreams, so I'm fixed up. And .... I know the words to all the Beatles songs*hee* KAndre singing She Loves You? I would have paid!!

Okay, so my porn name would be Princess Cherrybrook, which sounds more like a playmate for Hiawatha.

And muski, who's Morticia? And how could you ever forget Elvira. I know I never will. I think she kept us all alive .... somehow.

After reading all day about the secret and the revelation thereof, a high-five to Couch Tomato who asked early in the day something like did people actually think he wouldn't be using a British accent? Everyone in the cast speaks with a British accent so why wouldn't it just be assumed that Clay would do the same? As secrets go, that one is piss poor.

:cryingwlaughter: Guilty

In my defense.... I said I don't post much of anywhere anymore. I have my issues....

And as soon as I heard you tell someone your name, I said that I recognized you from FCA and that I started to post there recently. I so enjoyed meeting you! I thank that 'random man' I was talking with who attracted you to our group so you could put him on the CH stream.

YEA!!! Today is my first Christmas concert! We have to travel from Syracuse to WB, PA and the weather here sucks- they closed all the schools this morning, but we're USED to this weather, being the snow capital of the world. Can't wait to get on the road!

Speaking of secrets, and since the one about the arm hair from the DCAT tour has now been spilled, I have a little story about that one. My cousin and I won both sets of BAF Auction tickets for that show (Canandaigua), and took two of our friends with us. During the M&G, someone had asked about the arm hair, and Clay answered and then asked us to not blab it all over the boards. I had every good intention of honoring his request.

At the concert, I was sitting in the front row next to the center aisle, then our two friends, then my cousin. Now, to explain, my cousin, I swear, has a photographic memory. Even after an event like the M&G, where there were 9 people there, plus Clay and Jamie, and Mary, and Jerome, she could tell you where everyone was sitting, what they said, what they were wearing, etc. Me... not so much! I honestly didn't even see Mary, Jamie or Jerome until they started passing around things to be signed, and taking pictures. I can be kind of oblivious- particularly in the company of the Aiken!

The friend I was sitting next to at the concert was one we had met the previous year in the hallway at the Christmas concert at Red Bank. We had struck up a conversation while waiting to get in, I recognized her screen name from a board I lurked at, and I got in touch with her afterwards. We became friends, and when I learned her history, my cousin and I decided that if we won the M&G's that year, we would take her. It was her first time meeting Clay, so she was understandably excited.

At intermission of the concert, my cousin was chatting with some girls behind us, and I was talking with our new friend. We were trying to rehash in our minds everything that had gone on at the M&G, and we both knew that there was SOMETHING that Clay had asked us not to share with anyone else- but I'll be damned if either of us could remember exactly what it was!!! :cryingwlaughter: Aiken fog, indeed!

Shortly after the conversation with both of us wracking our brains to remember what the big secret was, we got drawn into the conversation my cousin was having with the girls behind us. One of them asked about the arm hair, and my friend and I eagerly started in with, "Oh yeah, someone asked him about that in the M&G, and he said........." until we got a look at my cousin's horrified expression..... and we both looked at each other and said "Oh, shit!" Luckily, we hadn't let that much out of the bag, but after that one little lapse, we never did!

As much as I said yesterday that I found the stories heartwarming (which I do/did) and as much as I wholly admire the people who wrote them, and the people who read them, the concert for me is about the voice. And that? is sublime. I can't imagine walking out of that concert feeling anything but extreme pleasure at the fact that I just got to hear Clay Aiken sing, live, for nearly two hours. That's Clay. Live. Singing. Oh yes, blessed. That's just me though.

I remember Elvira! She just LOVED those U-turns! :cryingwlaughter:

I'm not muski - but Morticia was Elvira's 1st cousin once removed who accompanied us on our California trek this summer and then her twin sister Morticia II accompanied us on our trek in Florida!

Where are these porn names coming from? What did I miss?

And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Thankful4Clay! Hope its a great one!

Not just you. Any time I have the opportunity to be at a live Clay concert, I am thanking my lucky stars. Now, if I could just figure out some way to wave a magic wand and make all those ticket & hotel charges disappear from my Visa.......

I've pinned the Wilkes-Barre concert thread for this evening. It's located here. duckyvee, that sly dog who tried to escape KAndre (AS IF!) is the only person from here attending! Have a great time tonight!

:00003653: Thankful4Clay!!!

I think many of you know me well enough now to know that I'm NOT all about Clay's voice. For me, it's the entire package that thrills me. (Ahem....) And I'm finding for me that this show is the great blend of what makes me love him so much. The voice is sublime. The humor is there, via his choice of story for one section and the fantastic jazzy medley, plus his not-banter before DSIAFCD. But I also find amazing that he freely admits, via his other choices of stories, that yes, this can be a difficult time for some. I think he gets that this isn't something to be "swept under the rug," but rather faced head on. Case in point: the story that's made it into the show three times now. Yes, the beginning of the whole thing is very sad. But in the end, this woman managed to get through her grief over the season and began to celebrate again. In other words, there IS hope out there -- it may take time, but it is there. It all depends on how you look at it. That's how I took that story, at least.

CG, I'm glad you shared with us your thoughts, and I'm also glad you're willing to give the show another chance.

Meanwhile....

For you CG....sans glasses...

You know CG, you might want to try some reverse psychology regarding the glasses. If you start wishing for them, he might not wear them....

Hey! I like denial! Anyhoo, I know I'm gonna be trudging somewhere inside the Arctic Circle for a dude who has thousands of other girlfriends...

Tsk, tsk, she knows the words to Beatles' song, but doesn't know that the Hope is set in a necklace? Minion retraining may be in your future!

Y'all know I don't just go for random men - they have to be random cute men!

Good summation! I have always said that the VOX is my main attraction, but I'm fascinated by Clay, the man, and what makes him tick. I think he most definitely understands that the holidays are very difficult for many people, and his way of dealing with that in the show is to face it head on. I totally get what he's trying to do, and it works for me. I guess it doesn't work for others. All I know is I came away from my first show with an overwhelming urge to see another one. In the meantime, I'm addicted to the audio (and video when I have a chance to watch, say, the Jazzy medley a few times a night.)

12 more days to Erie! :) Hee, it's my own personal countdown....one that I'm sure a few Claynadians will appreciate. ;)

YSRN reminded me about this at getclayaiken.com:

Today is AIW day at iTunes! Now, I couldn't find the entire EP this morning when I looked, but I've read that if you search "Clay Aiken All is Well" it comes up. I'll try that tonight when I get home.

Also, if you go to iTunes via GoodSearch, a portion of the profits will go to the BAF (you MUST specify the BAF before you enter iTunes from there; look for the box at the top of the screen).

I got my hopes up too soon....thanks to our lovely administration who obviously think people try to slip out early the day before a vacation!!!!

Ummmm, yeah....well, except for me, of course. :lilredani:

I'm so sorry Gibby, you have no idea.

It's okay, JJ. I'm just sorry for you that you won't be able to go. :hugs-1:

Mornin'! Early bird gets the worm...

heh. :whistling-1:

So, is that code? Yup, I'm quite sure it is. Heeeee.

Safe travels, and have a fantastic time at the concert! The M&G story was cute.

chacha, I followed your you tube link and was able to watch the entire sampler. I enjoyed it a great deal! Thank you!

I, too, think that Clay understands that the holidays are a difficult time for people. I think he acknoweldged that by choosing stories that show how people coped with those difficulties. Although many of the stories are about loss or sadness of one type or another, my impression is that most of them end on a note of hope. And I'm so glad that he's included a funny story or two, to balance it out! It will be interesting to read all of the stories together once the tour is over. I'm glad they're being gathered at the CH.

I got to meet Thankful in Vegas, and she's a sweetheart!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, THANKFUL!!

OMG!! I LOVE thsi picture!!! I want to marry this picture!!! And I want it for my avatar but can't make one here at work so anyone else with that idea - HANDS OFF!!!!!!!!!!

Pet's name and the first street you lived on? Not sure what the name of the first street I lived on was. And my pet - well, he's has a porn star name all by himself! But, if I remember what I was told was the first street I lived on, I would have to have a sex change operation and then my porn name could be Waldo Stenton! :cryingwlaughter:

CG, can you get get into Photobucket from work? If you can, you can save your options to make the photo avatar size, and then upload the URL from that picture into your photobucket. I've been using this all the time lately! Heh.

And I'll let you know that I was seriously considering changing my avatar to this picture as well, but I like you lots, so you can have it. That is one fantastic picture.

Hmmm....porno name. "Rural Route 1 Candy." Hmmm...doesn't seem to work well for me.

But you can call me "posthooch" today too. Me and Gibby got a thing going on.
