I empathize with Clay... I was depressed for a whole month the year I turned 29... my last year in my twenties. Then when I finally reached the big 30, I didn't care at all. :cryingwlaughter:

Okay...haven't caught up but I HAD to tell you that right now I'm in my 'living room' of an executive suite at the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans! whoa, mama! And room service just delivered a "Trio of Lump Crabmeat" and a slice of Alligator Cheesecake and a glass of Frei Brothers Pinot Noir.

whoa mama...

I just got here from Memphis and was picked up by a driver and a sales rep from the hotel. Then taken into some fancy dancy lounge and there were about eight management reps all in their suits and what not and they had some kind of shrimp and beef appetizers and wine and we just chatted...

I have like 12 or 13 site visits in the city tomorrow and that's brutal so I'm enjoying hanging in my ridiculously lovely suite tonight. Anyhoo..just had to post to tell you that in that lounge during our blah blah I told 'em about my Clay concert in DC and how my event person from my big program in Chicago sent up all the Clay things---the chocolate covered cherries with "Clay" written on them, etc.

So I'm sitting here and a knock comes on the door. I thought it was my dinner, but it was the Dir. of Guest Services with a copy of ATDW! Guess they had someone go buy one for me!

You know....people say money can't buy happiness...but being in a situation (however false and fleeting it is) where I have some control over money (as in bringing a big, lucrative event to the hotel) feels pretty damned good.

Sigh.....
