Didn't people say he'd dyed his hair brown when he came back for her last show? I'll bet it was taken at her farewell party.

His lips, OMG, his lips. He looks like he's been making out or something for a couple of hours, all sleepy and satisfied, but in his eyes you can see he's sad that she's leaving. Just my little fantasy.

Tropical storm Hanna is visiting my place at the moment--just rain, the big winds will come later. I'll be asleep. Anyway, it's kind of cool because you can smell the ocean in the rain and wind, and I'm a long way from the ocean. Ideal situation, nothing to fear, but stormy and kind of romantic.

Now playbiller, let's not be realistic. :hysterical:

On the icky side, my apartment has been invaded by flies for the last 30 hours or so. Dozens and dozens of flies. Some really big ones, and many more regular size ones. No evident cause, no idea how they're getting in, but I googled and it's pretty much what I guessed, but apparently it will be passing soon because there's a short life cycle involved, and the causal situation may never be an issue even though I may never find it. It could be a very small creature, maybe even outside nearby. But ick ick ick.

I'm one of those people who tries to avoid killing insects in my house, will even escort a cockroach out the door with a broom, but by this morning I was smacking hell out of the flies. I was trying to direct them out the screen door, but there were just too damned many and too stupefied. Today was the worst in terms of numbers, but tonight there are some big ones. Really big. ICK. They caught onto my catch-em-in-a-big-cup-cap-it-and-take-em-outside trick, so I'm smacking at them too. But they're impossible to kill. I accidentally woke up my neighbors upstairs around 11 tonight smacking flies on the ceiling, and they still haven't gone back to bed. I wonder if they have the flies too.

Well, sales estimated at Worldwidealbums.net seem to indicate that foreign sales surpass US sales again. Once again, disclaimer - no one knows the accuracy of the numbers they quote

Last week the sales were estimated between 172000 and 178880 - this week they are estimated at 174000 and 180960 indicating sales about 2K for this week, not great, but not bad at all.

Ooooh OOOh I have the fly solution - vacuum them in the air,, then but a sock on the end of the hose until you can take it outside. That is how I fight moths, unusually large bugs (one looke like a scorpion - but there are no scorpions in my state!) spiders and fruit flies.

I avoid killing the little ones too but for flying cockroaches or anything really nasty that flies, I use hairspray instead of bug spray. Stops the flapping instantly so they drop straight to the ground.

Or maybe... jmh, you should just let his people go.

BWAH, Scarlett! It does sound she has a plague, doesn't it??

I second the vacuum idea, play. When we were kids my younger sister was deathly afraid of moths, and would totally freak out when they came in the house. The vacuum was a wonderful way to get rid of them. I remember babysitting her many times and getting out the big vacuum, attaching the tubes and wielding them like a weapon against those horrible moths! She thought I was so brave, and such a hero!! Heeeee. The vacuum should work with flies, too.

Happy Birthday, ausdon!!

I just realized that i have a bypass vacuum - the stuff i vaccuum does not pass through the motor on the way to the bag, it get diverted 0 that is why I can vacuum large things into the bag, and plastic things and huge bugs. If your vacuum has stuff pass through the motor I would keep it to small bugs.

See, I used to go through vacuums every year and I finally could not stand it , did a huge amount of research and bought a panasonic, I have had it since 2000, an it still works fine and i do not treat it well. Fear has the more expensive version of the same machine, she can probably speak about it.

I don't think she has had the locusts yet, It might be worth waiting to see if she gets them.

This year it has been odd. We'll get 3 - 5 flies at once. We get rid of them and then it repeats a few weeks later. Last year I had new windows put in and I wonder if there were dormant fly eggs on one of the windows. I've been meaning to do some research. I generally keep the food covered anyway (old habit) but am even more careful now about not setting the table too early even in between episodes.

There was an interesting online article about swatting flies the other day. Essentially they instinctively fly the opposite direction of danger and they are fast. That is the reason they are difficult to swat. So you have to move in the opposite direction at the last second to catch them.

It does look like Clay is leaning back in that picture with Hannah. Maybe he is sitting on a counter in her dressing room. Aside from Clay, I like Hannah a lot. She is talented with a friendly, sweet personality.

I'm so bored by our slick, manufactured talent these days. I watch old movies and the people are so much more interesting because of the variety. I would love to see more quirky, different people in the movies and on TV.

Holy Crap what a picture!!! I don't know what to say about this except that they both appear to be feeling alright, and that Hannah's proud of it. I rather love this photo.

I second your reaction and add...WOW and GAH!!!

That picture of Clay and Hannah just about did me in. Those bedroom eyes--OH MY!!

I got an email last night saying that I had won an autographed copy of OMWH!!! EEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Almost didn't enter--figured I had a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Wondering who else has been notified and hoping that someday I will have that same kind of luck with winning a meet & greet.

Good Morning, FCA! :hello:

Hope all is well! NC seems to have escaped Hanna with some heavy winds, and -- over here in the Triad -- rain that is providing drought relief. There are some who are without power, and morning TV shows are filled with flash flood warnings.

Congrats, RIFAN!

Playbiller, you could write "Hints from Heloise."

Have a great day, all! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Hope everyone has a great day today, especially ausdon. We are having a little (unfortunately very little) Hannah rain here today.

Clay content: If anyone published a book of photos of Clay, it would drive everyone crazy figuring out which one is really him. But that's what makes him so very interesting. :lilredani:

Congrats RIFAN! I already have an autographed picture so I didn't enter...yep, I am still waiting for a Meet and Greet too!

Happy Birthday Ausdon!

Bowling went pretty well last night; I bowled my usual average, 130. It was nice seeing everyone again and catching up...but, dang, the summer sure went by fast.

Haven't commented on the Hannah/Clay picture...knowing that Clay is with Jaymes and the baby in NC, it is just a little squicky to me to be shipping him with Hannah...probably the Lone Ranger on this one.

They say you're never alone in the Claynation, and I feel squicky about it too, even though I love Hannah to death and adore that photo of the two of them. My interpretation of Clay's expression is that he looks schmoopie and sad that Hannah is leaving the show and he got a little sentimental about it. Somehow though, until he absolutely denies a romantic relationship with Jaymes, I'm gonna feel funny about shipping him with anyone else. Think I'll just ship him with Parker for the time being.

God, I sound like such a prude...and anyone who knows me, knows that isn't true...AT ALL! (waves to cindilu2, luckiest1, From Claygary, goldarngirl, Bella 19, heinz and Iseeme!) :whistling-1:

I do have to agree on the statement "Wow, and GAH!" however! :hubbahubba:

I read in a post that Hannah has some Clay pics on her site. But I can't find a website for Hannah. Anyone?

I just see all this shipping as fun and fantasy on our part. I wonder if Clay realizes how much match-making is going on, on his fanboards!!

I totally agree! Didn't mean to sound judgemental, because I've been doing it for 5 years myself.

I think Cotton must've lost power. They got hit pretty hard in her area. Haven't checked the news since I went to bed last night, but there were some outages down there already last night. I hope they're OK and get power back soon.

The story of the flies, continued. This morning I woke up to a few little ones, and three of the hard to kill, hard to catch big ones left. I don't like bug spray but yesterday I sprayed it right at one of them, and it was undaunted. After chasing them around the kitchen for awhile this morning, I cut off all the lights, since they seek light, and I got two to the screen door where I could escort them out, and one in the window I managed to catch in the cup and take outside. Hope that's the end of this. No sign of the dead thing but I think it might be under my deck. Ugh. Better than inside.

About swatting them. My daddy used to catch flies in his hand and take them outside, so I know about the motion thingie. These were very slow moving flies, I guess having to do with their unique provenance. Most of the little ones would just sit there and be swatted to death. Oh the bad karma I have earned. Shudder. They wouldn't have been an annoyance if there hadn't been so danged many. And then those last few big ones who were really annoying, all buzzing and unhappy, and hard to catch or kill. So glad to see them gone at last. According to my googling, they shouldn't be back. This is the end of the cycle.

Hee, I made people squirm with my fantasy about Clannah. Gosh, there's something new under the sun. :hysterical:Heidi Ho and I are so not shippers it isn't even funny. I hatesssss shipping. Unless it's the Clangela or the Clannah. But you've got to admit that picture is hawt.

Happy Birthday, ausdon. :bday:
