I'm grammarian and I didn't know this board existed until today when someone linked something from here. Woo Hoo! I belong to Clayversity, where I post occasionally, and recently joined the Clackhouse. I never post at the OFC and frankly don't get over there often. Computer time is limited because my DH decided to retire early which reeeeeally cramps my Clay Time. I love to read everything I can about Clay. I love him to pieces, and I want him to be around and happy as he can possible be forever. His voice does some wonderful things to my soul, and I find him endlessly fascinating. If I'm confusing you with someone else, never mind and welcome to FCA!! Oh yeah Lizzybutts...I think we were sitting together with couchie and another fan whose board name is escaping me right now. I remember having a lot of fun that night with you guys cos you knew how to just partah in that table...hee! glad to see you here...hope you like it and looking forward to getting to know you better. drmchaser Posted June 24, 2008 Report Share Posted June 24, 2008 It took a bit of board traveling back in '03 to finally find a place that seemed to fit and I have been drmchaser614 on the CH as my home ever since. I remain registered at many of my old boards, but rarely post. To be honest, it's very easy to for me to fall back on my lurker ways, which is why I wanted to break the ice here at FCA quickly and say HELLO. I live in So. Cal., about forty miles east of Los Angeles. Divorced, with two kids in college, so I'm poor but happy most of the time. The year the ex left we had to sell the business, the house and the Cadillac, but I told the kids we were starting our lives over with a positive attitude and we've managed to keep that going through some interesting ups and downs. Never watched AI1, went out of my way to avoid the hype in the press, but the commercials for AI2 hooked me so I'm happy to say I was there for the first "Take." Clay has fascinated me from day one and I've enjoyed the fandom for the most part, but I have yet to meet a true TC insider or music industry expert on any board, so the recent pontificating and backseat quarterbacking of the man's career (and life!) on many boards comes across as pointless and condescending to me. I look at all of Clay's choices and decisions as insight into who he is and what makes him tick. Beyond the voice that I fell in love with, this is what interests me. I see many familiar posters here at FCA. Haven't met too many folks because I only attend the California concerts (until the kids graduate - 1 more yr God willing!) but I did meet the wonderful PermaSwooned last summer. I usually attend with my best friend who I've known since high school. She's a non-internet fan who loves the voice/personality and is always happy to tag along. I think that's it! This may turn out to be my longest post ever, but I did want to say hello and thanks for letting me in the joint. During this recent down time with Clay I found myself returning here again and again just because you all look like you're having so much fun. I'm in northern california but have been to every clay concert there except the 05 xmas shows. We probably passed by each other at the very least. I've been wanting to join back in the fun over here for a while now but it's just been one RL adventure after another. Actually, I think I even won a contest over here a couple years ago, right Couchie? Anyway, here's my question. How come when I'm editing my profile information it says that my board and board name are required fields? And I can't get them to not show up. To answer your questions: we require a board name and home board to prevent spam registrants. Two years ago, before the requirement, we had all kinds of "people" registering with names like "pornoforfree." Easiest way to prevent that was to require those two fields. As for the board name and home board showing up -- the only ones they show up for is you, and the mods/admins.
