Bug on the phone now and said he left in a black Audi A8. He was with Jamie and 2 others (male and female) that she didn't recognize. She said Faye did NOT sit with Jamie and Clay. She sat in another area. She said the floor wasn't full and lots of empty seats. Probably guessing 3000 but she's not sure. Said Ruben was good and talked about his good friend Clay and about the first time they really got to talk to each other at beginning of AI (I'm thinking he meant during Hollywood Cuts). Ruben was at a restaurant and Clay came up and said Hi and he sat down with Ruben and whoever Ruben was sitting with and they just became "tight" after that. She said Ruben imitated Clay saying "Hi, how are ya" and got a reaction from the crowd. Clay seemed to enjoy himself and was on the iphone alot!

While ya'll are eeeeing over Clay I'm eeeeeeeeeein'g over Idol Rewind. Wow, I've only watched the first 5 minutes and they have included people that weren't shown on the original..including QUIANA...I let out a squeeeeeeeeee. Did ya'll see her? Or am I seeing things! She was so cute.

Why does all that make me go awwwww.... I feel all schmoopie for some reason that Clay was able to go see Ruben perform and not get mobbed and no Jerome (that we know of yet) and it just feels so right! Thank you Raleigh. The N&O may not be too nice to him but the town seems to be. Smart man to move back there.

Four years ago I went out at my lunchtime and bought four copies of MOAM. Listened all the way back to work. Next week I bought two more copies, then one more the week after that... = 7 copies per required... I've bought more since and created umpteen cds of Clay concert music and banter. I cannot wait till the next time I get to buy multiple copies of his newest cd!!!

I think cousins AND friends. This is one shipping I can't get into. I believe if there was anything between them he wouldn't always introduce her as his cousin.

I've been tryng to catch up and watching Rewind. There's this one little moment in rewind when Simon comes out to talk and there's a quick glimpse of Clay with a big excited grin. He looked so young and excited.

I don't think Clay would introduce Jamie as his cousin if she were more than that, either. Whatever their relationship, I think he is very lucky to have such a convenient companion with the ready-made cover of a familial relationship.

Missed Rewind again. Alex had a late afternoon soccer game and it was booohhhhhhhhhrrrring. By the end of the game our team had only six players on the field (down from eleven) because we kept scoring goals and the other team had none. That team was so...NOT a team. They were laughing and carrying on conversations and just not trying. Have no idea why they're in our flight of the district league...they didn't seem to care one bit about soccer, actually. Waste of everybody's time... :281:

And made me miss Clay's episode of AI 2 Rewind, demmit. I swear, there I was---all alone in the den with the tv all to myself yesterday, ready to enjoy...and it was the Miami Detroit show! DEMMIT! Then today when the REAL show is on, I'm sitting on the sidelines of a dumb ole' soccer game. :boo-hoo:

I'll be coming home from work early tomorrow to take Shadow (our doggie) to the vet. He's been doing his shaking and panting and weird behavior more and more frequently and is lagging on his walks and definitely looks like he's lost weight....wish us luck!

OK, I went. My friend said she was going whether I went or not, so I said what the heck. I got to stare at Clay's back from a distance for a long time. He kept playing with his iPhone and talking to everyone. No dancing like he did for Kim's show, but he did stand up throughout "Flying Without Wings". My friend got to see him drive away--I hung back. I saw the car, but couldn't see through the crowd that had obviously gathered waiting for that moment. 5 State Police on foot escorted his car from the arena to the fair exit. I'm glad they take good care of him.

Faye was there with a gang of women who looked like a bunch of Clay fans--at least one or two looked very familiar. Does she socialize with Clay fans often?

Ethel was there, and went up to the stage to touch Ruben's hand, as did a dozen or so women throughout the concert. A whole group went up to the stage once, but security made them go sit down again. It was an enthusiastic crowd--not a lot of people.

Ruben talked about Clay a lot, and American Idol a lot.

Ruben's story was that he saw Clay sitting with a group of attractive women--forget the term he used--and realized that he and Clay had a lot in common. So he went up to the table and Clay invited him to join them. They exchanged phone numbers that day and have been friends ever since. His imitation of Clay's accent was right on--very funny.

It was a good concert--I liked the covers best, lots of old style R&B.
