I did not like the title of the Eonline, " Clay Aiken: Can Family Help Save His Music Career?" I doubt that David Foster would help Clay if he did not believe in Clay's talent. Somehow the article manages to convey that the only reason Foster will help Clay is because he considers him to be family. Has anyone seen an actual statement anywhere that RCA dropped him? Why is it so hard to believe that it could have really been a mutual decision?

IMO, 2008 was the year that Clay really took full control of his life. He became a father and announced to the world that he was a gay father. He has a boyfriend. IMO Clay is redefining himself as an artist also. Until we hear from an official source that RCA let him go, I choose to believe that Clay's contract was up and RCA would not give him the terms that he wanted to renew, so they parted ways. IMO Clay is a lot wiser now that when he signed the original contract. He also has made good connections in the entertainment world. Even though he proved he could be a Broadway star, he has said that he misses singing. IMO his singing career is nowhere near needing saving. Foster will be lucky to get Clay, if that does happen.

Absolutely agree with this. I haven't ordered the cd but I do like the track list. The only other song I would have liked is As Long as We're Here.

I finished the game I've been developing and I'll be trying it out on the kids we tutor this morning. My son offered to help on the design and graphics. Right now it's a little rustic. I'm actually kind of excited about it.

Have a good day see you all later.

E!Online can bite me.

That track list is interesting......wonder if it's legit?

My bucket list is probably too long to write. I've never been outside of the US and Canada, except for two wonderful trips to Cuba. So I'll just say I want to visit each continent for starters........and get more specific once I've done that. :hahaha:

The track list is interesting indeed. Just saw that the cd can be ordered through amazon.ca for $15.99 can. now. Have a good day everyone.

Yes, I was zooming that thing since I first saw it. Zooms in nice and clear, not a pixelation in sight.

*waves wildly at ausdon* Good to know I wasn't all alone!

Kareneh, thank you! Muah! :BlowKiss: Gotta run now -- have a meeting with a team member from Sable (what are the odds?) who's here in Houston for the week (but oh, it'll be an 8-11 and 12-4 thing, sigh! I hope I stay awake. She's very nice and chatty, though, so that'll help). Maybe I should add Sable and riding a Sable pony (are they really ponies?) to my bucket list!!! If I we can't meet up in Norway/Denmark, this'll also be a good alternative.

Have a nice day, everyone!!!

:nature-smiley-014:

Actually, they are Sable Island Horses. You can't ride them though, they are protected and no one is allowed to interfere with them. I think there is only a half dozen or so permanent residents...mostly meteorologists. In order to even go there you have to have permission from the Canadian Coast Guard.

Does your teammate work out of Halifax? I did some preliminary work on Sable (the project, not the island itself) with the Dept. of Mines (as it was known back in the day) when I worked there in the summers during college....crikey! That was about 35 years ago!

Okay.......that remark makes this seem like a good day to start reducing the stock in the liquor cupboard. :juul:

So, y'all did click zoom a few times on the album art, didn't ya? This is one of the few pictures I ever paid for just because I liked it so much. Green eyes. G-a-h...

What, you expect me to be deep at this hour?

Gaaaahhh!!! Well, who knew?? THANKS!! :hubbahubba:

ETA: I like the CD tracklist....this will be a GREAT CD for indoctrinating new victims potential fans into the cult gorgeousness! I might just have to have more than one. :whistling-1:

ETAA: I wonder if there'll be a "booklet"? :whistling-1:

Hey...it's Eonline. The Jenna Bush pic and their 'headline' says it all to me. That conversation could've been a part of a number of contexts and this particular "journalist" gave it the slant he/she wanted. Or it could be right out of the horse's mouth. Who knows.

The track list? meh...I guess it's not bad for someone new to Clay...how strange they stuck a Christmas song on at the end! :hahaha: And yeah, "Lover All Alone's" absence? The label would have to pay Clay as the songwriter and that would be promoting him.

I hope Clay's busy watching Reed's gorgeous body moving so very sensuously on the stage and I still wonder if he's been to visit Hannah in London yet...I bet they have so much fun together!

It's a tabloid. Clay leaving RCA under ANY circumstances - well I knew this would be a consequence and they won't be the only ones. Until he announces something new expect more of the same. This was something I knew would happen every time the subject was brought up for the past few years. None of these articles will be clickable for me.

Hey K... Clay helped you out on a few of those places.

I love the way you live it up. Karen Eh! You are the woman. What a life! Can you post a link to your blog again? I upgraded to the latest firefox and lost all my bookmarks. What the hell?

aikim... thanks so much!!! Reed is a wonderful dancer! Clay done good... and so did Reed! Even if it was a NYC thang, it was good. Crossing fingers it's a long-term relationship.

Had a loverly dinner with Perma last night. We talked for over 3 hours. Managed to eat a bit in there, including a great apple dessert that I took the last bite of without even asking... :hahaha:

She's still having computer problems, but is reading so everyone wave! She has decided that Clay will do a casino tour next! I'm fine with that since we have so many of them out here.

Couchie... when you go to San Diego, maybe you can stop on your way and we can have a threesome! :cryingwlaughter:

For those of you who don't like to drive long distances, Perma said she took at bus/train combo from LA to Fresno that only took 5 hours and only cost $32. Wow!

My travel bucket: Australia/New Zealand, Scotland, more of England, NYC, and Washington DC.

Is it possible that a single might come of this CD? I mean, it's a compilation, and I have no idea if singles are released from comp. CDs... Most of them are ballads, but "Ashes" might be a good, up-tempo-ish song that would make a good single.

I doubt they will be promoting any singles.

Waves to Roomie and Liney. I'm not driving only because the long drives aren't good for my mom. But depending on whether or not I go (I just might send mom) maybe I can drive up to the area for a day.Glad ya'll had fun. I know all about long talks with Perma. :BlowKiss:

I love Reed's video (and I swear I hear Clay singing---I must be going nuts!) If anyone has made an MP3, I would love a copy of the song. It's so inspiring.

I know there has been a lot of talk about the book Three Cups of Tea - I haven't read it yet but now I have reason to. There will be a special meet the author event in San Francisco in April. Tickets are free. I signed up...

Registration

It's a weekday which sucks ... it starts at 6, check in at 5. It only last an hour.

I just HAVE to take a break from researching the degree of risks for high-resolution CT scans and bronchoscopy procedures!! I'm way overdue for posting here, so why not now?

liney23 and I DID have a wonderful dinner last night. I thought I ate 1/2 of my seafood Cobb salad (YUM), but my left-overs look like they are enough for 3 hungry people!! It's amazing how fast 3 hours can pass when chatting with a friend.

Y'all should just SEE liney23!! She looks AMAZING. If I want to look on the bright side, I guess it's a good thing that I haven't lost that much weight, because it means she can still recognize me (alas), but she's a whole new (smaller) person. Wow.

couchie, a trip to San Diego is nothing for us SoCal types. It's 2 hours, and it takes 2 hours to get anywhere down here if you hit the traffic wrong. OR I could do my new favorite thing and take the train! The bus/train combo thing to Fresno was awesome!! It was 4 1/2 hours, which is pretty much what it takes me to make the drive. I showed liney23 a pic I took with my camera phone out the window of the bus as we drove through a blizzard on the Grapevine (I-5). I was sitting there snacking and reading my book, whereas if I'd been trying to drive it, I would have been cowering in my car pulled over on the side of the road while giant trucks thundered by and hoping someone rescued me before I froze to death. HATES driving the Grapevine.

Oooooo...Greg Mortensen is speaking on March 6th at Long Beach State as part of the Long Beach Reads One Book celebration. It's kind of a cool community event where everyone in Long Beach is encouraged to read the same book at the same time and discuss it in different venues. It starts with Middle School level, and they are reading a Young Reader's version that just came out in January. It's sponsored by the Library Association. Since I'm not a CSULB faculty or student type person, tickets would be $30, but I'd love to hear him speak. Hmmm.....food for thought.

Travel bucket list?

Well, first of all, I need to get a new passport. My DH has been worried that he'll be overseas somewhere and need me to fly to his side, and I won't have a valid passport! Good point. So that's the first thing on my to do list.

*I've never been to Vancouver or Victoria, and would love to go.

*The South Island of NZ....I've been to the North Island, but not the South

*My DH really wants to visit Alaska, so I'd love to do that.

*Tahiti

*I'd love to revisit Ireland when it wasn't so cold!! Brrrrrrrrr.

*Grand Cayman & 7-mile beach

*Norway....home of some of my ancestors (Ireland claims the rest)

Hmmmm...better get busy!!

BTW...I am loving Facebook. I'm in touch with lots of folks I haven't seen in a while, including one of my cousins. Also a cool way to exchange pics & stuff with my daughter.

OK...back to work....how many millirads are in a "low-dose" High-res CT scan anyway? Guess I'd better find out. Sigh.

Oh....Clay....more diverse track list than I might have guessed, and yes I'll be ordering.

IMHO there is no way that the company of "Wicked" would invite an outsider to sing as part of their "showcase" number at a big Broadway benefit show. Thought the whole piece and especially the dancing was really gorgeous, though.

CLAY!!! There are 35 Indian casinos in California!! Remember how great the shows were in Pala & Indio???? Add 33 more stops to that and you'd have a great tour!!! Come West, young man!!!

Perma... I think the waitress felt so bad about messing up my order that she padded our take home. They added romaine and avocado to mine so the whole container was full to the brim and gave me two extra dressings. Lunch and afternoon snack. :cryingwlaughter:

35 casinos... I didn't know it was sooo many! Pala sets a high standard, tho. The food was outstanding. Indio... yuck! We should go on a tour and check out which are good and report back to TC... :cryingwlaughter:

How about an outing to Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa? Or, we could revisit Pala.
