Since this is Sir Robin's last week, I hope you'll indulge me if I let the holiday banner go a little early.

*sniffle*

PS... I think I have fixed it so Firefox users can see the mouse-message. Hee - thousands of dollars well spent, lol.

Don't mind at all! Going to see him this Thursday night just can't believe it!

Love the Sir Robin banner! And, yes, it is fixed so that Firefox users can see the message! :)

Congrats on the new monitor, liney!

Sounds like an interesting trip, KAndre!

We won't be getting into NYC in time for the Thurs. night show, but hopefully we can meet up with some FCA peeps afterward in Shubert Alley & maybe head over to Junior's for cheesecake? Looking forward to meeting you, preden!

Hope ldyj & hubby finally arrived in NYC!

Love the new banner and I too can see the message! I know a lot are sad that Spamalot is coming to an end, but I am rather excited to see what is next in Clay's career!

That profile shot needs to be on every page, one of the best pics of Clay ever!

Greetings from balmy NYC! I can never seem to plan what to pack for these trips -- last time I was here, it was freezing at the end of March, this time it's the end of December and it's 60 degrees!

Yesterday was travel day from hell! We finally made it to our hotel room at 3:00 a.m. Not real happy with SuperShuttle at the moment -- changed arrangements with them three times only to have them stop running service at 11:00 p.m. (and they don't tell you that when you tell them you won't be in until after 2:00 a.m.) Also not real happy with the people who "set up" our "first class" upgrade -- which basically didn't happen. When I have time, I'll tell that story later.

Anyway, today was a lot of walking but it was fun. Toward the end of the walk, we passed by Sardi's and I looked into the window -- sure enough, there's Clay's caricature!

Gotta run. Dinner calls. More later.

It's gonna be pretty quiet here next weekend. :whistling-1: Although I may seem meek and mild, I'm pretty good at causing trouble. :lilredani:

I'll be here next Sunday, although I'm not sure how much of a ruckus I'll be raising online considering it's just after 5:30PM and I've already put my pj's on. Good thing Clay's final show is a matinee!

Heh, nah, I'll be here too, Fear. Wish I could say I was taking a last-minute trip to NYC, but there's just no way I can swing another one. Love the new banner, but it made me tear up when I saw it. I look forward to what's ahead, but man, I loved Spamalot.

Ldyj Glad you made it to NYC okay! Have a great time and no drooling over Clay's caricature!

I will be here next Sunday too...sadly no trips to Spamalot for me at all but I am hoping for a tour or two in 2009!

Thanks, ladies. :bighug:I'm looking forward too, but Spamalot, the wonderful cast and Sir Robin will always have a special place in my heart.

I'll be here next weekend too. *sniffle* I won't complain too loudly though, as I was fortunate to see it many times. You know what the man says though, you can never have enough Clay Aiken. *g*

Hello, FCA! :BlowKiss:

Beeyouteeful "Spamalot farewell" banner, cindilu2! Honestly, I need something like that for a blog. I'm also looking for current New Year's graphics.

Just had this urge to check "Clay Aiken's foundation" on all the major search engines:

Aside from google, TBAF also comes up first on yahoo, lycos, hotbot and altavista. It's second on livesearch and netscape (after an icky first link). The first entry on Gigablast is an article on the Vanderbilt camp that lists the name of the foundation and the website. Ask.com and AOL both list it as 5th and 6th -- their first is a Spamalot link.

My new Carolina blog is about "The Waiting List" and Broadway World's "11 Stars A-Shining." From the "live feed," I can tell you that lots of people have arrived at the site by searching for "Clay Aiken The Waiting List."

After I read fan concerns about TBAF not being named per se, I typed in "Clay Aiken's Foundation." TBAF comes right up. It is also linked in the blog. Have no fear; I think everything is covered. :whistling-1:

I've enjoyed reading the travelog from Japan. Think I'll keep the western version of the toilet though.

Have a fantastic final week of 2008!

Glad you checked the links Caro! Yes, I've seen you at or near the top of technorati and the other blog searches (I only listed the web results in my post) and was always relieved to see your entry since I know you'd guide people to the foundation's main site.

LOL at both the original thought and also the picture of aikim smutting and blushing at the same time. :cryingwlaughter:

Then again it's about time someone smutted. I haven't seen any mentions or speculation on how quickly fans would spot someone carrying roses into the theatre this time around.

Bwah, aikim - you're a bad girl! Who knew? tmKing Arthur.

You know though, IIU and IIT - I sure hope that Reed would be able to see Clay as Sir Robin before his run is over. He'd have to be a pretty brave knight himself to subject himself to the Claymates!

:cryingwlaughter: Well, every once in a while I have to let my "inner smutter" out...just don't get used to it!

I will always defer to Muski in the smutting department.

If Quiana, Angela and Nick will be there it shouldn't be too difficult.

BTW, tell me if I'm going too far but it seems that aikim also broke new ground in smutting with some *coughsemecoughrolecough* assumptions. oh wow! (tm: cute knight) Congrats, aikim!

*keeping fingers crossed for couchie's chow mein*

I don't think anyone brought these recaps from yesterday over. From deemer at CV, via CH:

Don't know what other recaps you've had today, I always get back sooo late, but here are a few items from the 12/27/08 matinee:

During the first Clay scene from the tower, Clay was making a lot of faces and he put the strap from his helmet in his mouth a time or two. Never saw him do that. Later as the guard he had the ribbons across his face and up across his forhead when Lancelot burst in. I was wondering if he was also going to also put those in his mouth, but he didn't or maybe just didn't have time! His guard was very funny, the father gave him time to drift off into his own little world a few times. No actual braiding, but definite ribbon playing...

He did have very interesting socks. They had many colored stripes but were tiny stripes so it was harder to see the striping, they looked sort of tan when you were a distance from them. But close up had many colors. Why I care I don't really know!

He was very smiley during his big number - seemed very happy and did it with big motions and that marvelous big voice. He got a round of applause in his two big stops. The king had good timing too and the 'we better find some jews' went over well. In fact, that whole joke went over fabulously tonight. The biggest laugh of the night was when the king looked out at the audience and said "are there any jews here?". That and Patsy's line about no wanting to mentionhe was a jew to a heavily-armed christian were the biggest crowd roars of the night.

Clay had an interesting throw back to spamalot 1 -- when God came down and showed the grail, Robin was looking at it!! All this season (spamalot redux) I've seen Robin have his head down, not seeing the grail and thus setting up his misunderstanding about the quail etc, but not tonight. He had his head up but was bobbing his head after as if he was confused. So, he did a confused Robin tonight. I luv Robin!!

There were very few of the diehard fans there today but I think some fans from the AI pool (yes, remember there are millions of them...). The girl behind me was saying to her escort that she would cry if he wasn't there but it was obvious she hadn't been to spamalot before. The lady a few seats over got very excited when Clay slipped around and went up to the tower (we were on the end of the row so could see). In the line I heard some people talking about Clay Aiken being in the show, wondering if he was there that day. There was no blue sign -- no substitutes (only the conductor name board was up). I also heard some AI/Simon conversation in the crowd. I got the impression there were definitely Clay-awareness and fandom but not many screams or other reactions you know come from us.Even the sit-down-at-piano tunic flip was met with general silence (except possibly me). Clay didn't do the hipthrust at the end, just sort of a kick, but he wasn't getting screams and I think he knew the crowd wasn't full of claymates.

I was sitting in the far end A8 which is obstructed view and seats were at a premium -- even the balcony was full and most of the obstructed seats behind me too (often those are open, they are way at the ends and you can't see center stage when Clay is at the piano or when the French Taunter is at the wall). There were lots of standing room only people in the back, even behind the sound booth, so maybe standing room was sold out too. But there were two open seats in 1st row center (A102, 103). I thought standing room people might come up and take them but I was bold enough to ask the lady in A101 about them and she said, hey if at the end of intermission they didn't show up why don't I sit there. So I did. The other seat next to me stayed empty (wonder why the standing rooms don't swoop down on them! Maybe they didn't see since the other first-rowers were sort of spread out during intermission).

Interesting note from up front in the far end: I could hear Rick tromping up the stairs during the coconut/sparrow guard scene. He was rather loud! He went up after Clay was already talking. Clay came out during the orchestra's starting piece with Tom and they went out of view in the tower and then Tom came out as the announcer a moment later.

The peasant was a lady who did not expect it but was excited. She missed Clay's handshake but looked at him when he sang. He waved alot when she went back to sit down. Lucky gal!!

And ShakinAiken4 from CV, via CH:

Thank you to everyone for joining in on my excitement. I just remembered some stuff from yesterday's matinee. The entire first half of the show, D101 and D102 were empty. This couple came in at Intermission, and the wife wanted her husband (who had a cane, I believe) to sit on the aisle. The usher whispered to her something about her being a part of the show. She sat down and told her husband that she was going to be going backstage later. So she had a clue something was up, but she just didn't know exactly what. In the FYG final song, Clay, Wally, and David did this weaving dance. I don't know how to describe it, but they were weaving in and out of each other. It was pretty cool! I saw him kiss the dice girl on the lips. When the Camelot girls came out, he pointed at one, whispered, "I want that," and made a feminine shape with his hands. He yelled... a lot. It was cute!

My mom's favorite (other than Clay) was Rick. She loved Lancelot. I now love David, Rick, and Tom. They were all so funny and charming! Sean was adorable and so tiny at the stage door. My mom, who doesn't always like how Clay looks, said he looked fantastic at the stage door. I, of course, thought the same. Once I get home, I'll have a new avatar-- my picture with Clay (minus me )!

(bolding mine) Ok, where's muski?

Someone needs to make something of this -- last summer, Clay said in an interview that he was constantly being told to shut off the water while brushing his teeth...

BTW, couchie, this weekend I made some lumpia -- have you tried those?
