Here I sit at home, instead of being on my way to the commuter train, since our 27 storey bldg had a very weird fire alarm this afternoon.

We have terrible communication about what's really going on during an emergency, and after waiting 25 minutes between announcements, when most of us on the 17th floor smelled burning rubber/electrical odours via the freight elevator, we boogied on out of there! It was late enough in the day that I just came home.

Since I'm here, I can post a picture of my little sweetie, Schnitzel, who is a long haired mini Dachshund - she's four, very affectionate and everyone loves her. BTW, she loved her jingle bell collar and her new toys at Christmas. :)

My DVR recorded Kenny's Scrubs episode!!!

Another funny moment - the "happier than a kitten chasing a leaky cow" line! :D

There are a lot of songs on this CD that I dance to while doing stuff around the house, but not TRM or LAA (both too sad). I have read that this cd music is not danceable, and I disagree. I go dancing a lot and there is a waltz beat, a two step beat, and some whip (southwest swing in Calif.) music. Also a lot of the songs can be danced with a lot of hip movement. Admittedly not like Shakira's Hips Don't Lie, which I love, but that one is kind of frantic. I am talking about sexy, smooth hip action. I am Latina so I should know hip movement! Hee Hee

I can definitely see some of these songs working real well on DWTS with the type of dancing they do on the show, especially SL. (Sexy)

yeah several songs really do make me dance like EIDN....and I agree that it would be great for DWTS...so hope it gets used...

oh...we have a Bella and Belle...I will have to be careful about that. Love Dachshunds... all my dogs growing up were Dachshunds...they are very loving , small dogs with big dog personality.

Welcome back, Wanda!

I was thinking how very much of LIFE Clay is living and how he must be so very aware of how his audition on AI has made that possible for him. He's living a dream---he SAID that the reason he wanted to become a celebrity was to use the influence and he wasn't talking out of his cute little butt, either!

How amazing it must be for him to travel to these countries that he most likely never would've visited had he been a teacher in North Carolina and to be able to touch people's lives in such a way. Hopefully, these trips renew his desire to continue having that influence, and re-titanium (you gonna challenge me about this verb?) his ability to deal with the shitty parts of that celebrity.

I really believe these trips are like a 'sabbatical' in some ways for him as a singer/entertainer...while I'm sure what he experiences in these places makes him feel sorrow and despair, he's said himself that ironically he also leaves them with hope after seeing the resilience of the human spirit...These trips are 'grounding' times for him, I think.

I'm so happy about his UNICEF role, so glad he's doing this.

muski.... :clap::clap::clap: Well said!

This is a day that just doesn't want to move... soooo long!

The Real Me... It really makes me think how everyone needs someone who really knows them, not just celebrities, so this is indeed a song for everyone. I, too, think he strains too much on the first part, but love the song.

Clay has always seemed to need and to attract people to him that he can make into family. People he can be himself with. Happily, his families keep multiplying (kinda like him, huh). As much as many seem to love to make him a punchline/punching bag, he always seems to be around a lot of people who really like/love him. I just hope he can concentrate of the latter and pretend the former don't exist except at a far distance.

Sigh... back to try to find some work to make the day pass faster. Last week I couldn't breathe, I had so much work... geesh! :cryingwlaughter:

Bella... darling doggie! She looks good in Christmas!

Claytonic, just adding to the begging to make your quotes a little larger, please, so that we can actually read them!

....

OK, the reason I change the font (as shown above) for the quoted text is because I saw it done in another forum and thought how much easier it was to differentiate what was what when multiple quotes were being used in one post. I'll abandon it if it is causing a problem.

As for the visually impaired, trust me, I am one of them and solved my frustration when I discovered this best kept secret:

HOLD DOWN the Crtl button

and at the same time...

scroll the wheel back and forth on your MOUSE

until you see the size of font most comfortable to you.

This feature also works in numerous other programs including MSN, Word, Gmail, etc etc. I use it all the time and now rarely need to ask someone to increase the size of their font.

claytonic - thanks for the tip!! Before I tried it, however, I was thinking that it would be fine to make the quotes in a different font (there are lots to choose from) and they would still be distinguishable!! (without making it small!) :)

I have horrible sciatica. It's gotten to the point where my leg starts to go numb. I saw a doctor years ago and she told me it was nothing, but at that time I didn't have the numbness. Now, I can't find a doctor to get an initial diagnosis. The specialists require a referral, which I already knew...but it's getting in to see someone to refer me that's a pain in the ass. (No pun intended) Our family doctor "doesn't see patients with back pain". So, I'm still looking. Thanks to all for videos and gorgeous pics! :thankyou:

Tijala - I just got back from getting a really good theraputic massage. I have been having sciatica the past week or so from moving around a bunch of heavy boxes. Also with the pain down the leg and the toe numbness!! When I got home I layed down on my back for a few minutes, and felt a couple of vertibrae slip back into place. And that's Good Thing. :D Before going to a chiro, it might be a good idea to get a massage or two. The chiro can't adjust well if your muscles are all tied up in knots anyhow! :D

:hugs-1: to all who need them!!

Bella - your Schnitzel is verra verra cute. But - I have to ask - that isn't one of the red bows left over from CM's ummmmm.....extracurricular activities, is it???? Because, I didnt know she added bells occasionally. :cryingwlaughter: And slap me hard - my mind is just alllll over this one! (if any of you are wondering what I'm talking about - think of the emoticon Claymatron posted yesterday........)

Well I taught 11 women how to make pillowcases today - some quilt teacher I am! But at least when they buy fabric for their quilts they'll buy extra for matching pillowcases. The shop owner is happy!

Somalia really sounds desolate. I wonder how they decide where to send Clay on these trips.....I'm just glad he didn't go to Myanmar. Sounds very dangerous there. I would think that UNICEF has security up the wazooooo when they bring a celebrity into one of these countries!

Just a quick drive-by - I have an early appt tomorrow!!

Was someone asking about having their youtube page in Spanish?

Here's what to do, if you haven't figured it out yet.

Up in the right corner you'll see a teeny-weeny flag. Next to the word Site:

Click on that and chose the UK flag, and your page will turn to English!

(I didn't see an American flag on mine... so the Union Jack ought to turn it back to English for you!!)

:F_05BL17blowkiss:

Bless you! It worked! I couldn't figure out why I suddenly couldn't read anything on there anymore. Must have been an out-of-control clicker!

:hugs-1: to gibby, tijala, claytonic and anyone else who needs them!

It happened to me once and I couldn't figure it out for days!! Glad to help!!! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Afternoon all,

Still at work, my daughter works at the Library also and has a meeting, so I have to wait for her to be finished...hopefully won't be more than a half hour or so. Then I have to go home and bake something since it was decided that we should all bring in something sweet to munch on tomorrow...last thing I want to do, so I will have to find something quick to make.

Last place I would have expected Clay to be is Somalia; but he will go where there is need...I think these trips feed his soul and recharges him.

I guess this is why I gets so annoyed at the whining and complaining when Clay isn't around; it really isn't all about us and are wants and needs.

Praying for a safe return home for him.

Kim

Couchie - well put, and I agree with you. I guess I'm just reacting to the people who have the need to make out whatever is happening into a romantic love relationship between Clay and Jaymes. I don't see it. If he says its true - than I'll be happy he's found true love. But until then - as far as I or anybody else knows - they're very close friends like he is with Angela, Quiana, Nick, etc. Maybe baby-making friends, maybe not! But I'm not romanticizing it.

You know, this goes both ways. It just depends how one views it - if one views it as something that would be great, then they will probably have a tendency to romanticize it. If they view it as something that wouldn't be great, they probably have a tendency to make as little of it as possible. I just don't think it's worth taking personally, either way. I'm here to have fun, not argue. I know that some people enjoy a good argument...just not me.

Yes, I do believe you have summed it up. <g> It does go both ways. From what I’ve seen, the shipping in these parts is all in good fun, no harm no foul – but there are some who are overly sensitive to ANY shipping at all and seem to not recognize the lack of investment in it that I see around here. Hence the strong reactions. Shipping is NOT the problem, really, it’s the tearing down of the women possibly involved.

And, frankly, to exclude Jaymes from the “rarefied air” of Jerome and Kristy at this point is, IMO, way off base whether it’s romantic or not. The woman is clearly very important to him whether she’s just his friend or more. I can’t understand why anyone would want to deny him a close friend. That’s just the other side of the same coin as the shippers.

She calls him Clayton – that says a lot.

Shit, that quote from that little girl in Somliland just makes me weepy. PMS, I tell ya. What a fabulous man we have.

Who is denying him a close friend? I haven't seen that anywhere on any board. I think there are more than two people in Clay's rarefied air......

All I want is for him to be happy and have love in his life, whether it's for now or forever, it doesn't matter to me...and whoever provides that for him is OK by me.

And I'm willing to teach her how to tie this... ClayFormal-1.gif

But you didn't address the issue of Schnitzel's bow - with bells!

Bella decorated Schnitz's bow. I don't do dogs, at least not any more!

Surely you remember what happened when I decorated Clay's bow with the titanium balls that Christmas... and the bells only rang when he was happy to see me!?!

If you haven't seen it, then you don't get out much. I've seen more than one comment regarding her using him, or some such. Glad to know you're not one of those who tears down any woman he is remotely close to, although I'm not sure why you think I was talking only about you when I specifically placed a paragraph break between my response to lucky and my other comments. "Rarified air" wasn't coined by you, was it?

I've read on some of the other boards too, although if they are too bad, I usually don't return. Most of the boards I've read at usually have a few bitchy people and the rest trying to calm things down. I too hate it when some of them tear down anyone close to Clay, and its not just the females. I've read some who tear into Jesse, David Foster, and then there was the oldie but goody attacking of John. I think that was his name, wasn't it? The one who used to do his hair. It would aggravate me so much with him because many of the ones who criticized talked like Clay shouldn't be around him because it would feed into the rumors. I can't see Clay ever not associating with someone or being friends with someone because of worrying about what some jackass is going to say about him. He is a man with integrity and I love him for it.

Oh, and Bella, your dog is adorable.

Ahh Heidi - this isn't even worth discussing and I didn't think you were talking about me. Okay?

No. If you didn't think I was talking about you, what was this about?

I can’t understand why anyone would want to deny him a close friend.

If it’s not worth talking about, why respond? Seriously, either you want the discussion, or you don’t. No need to be passive aggressive about it. You can always ignore. I do it all the time.

Claymatron is partly correct about the "bow" that I used to decorate Schnitz. It was a present from the groomer and it's unfortunately (sniff!) not made with her red ribbon. It's very fluffy velour with jingle bells and she gets very excited when she sees it - stretches her little neck up so she can wear it right away. :)

As for extra ribbon, I do have one piece that was gifted to me .... don't know if it was used before or not though... :whistling-1:

Thanks justclay12 and everyone else! We think she's pretty special.
