:hello:georgiesmybaby, good to see you here.

I think most of us miss having Clay tour and having no details about future plans. Eventually we will know. I guess I haven't worried about Clay because he has shown how he can handle his career. I only wish I could handle my life as well. :dead-1:

I am looking forward to the BAF Gala and I would like to attend the roundtable but who knows. Last year's gala was amazing.

I can't say that I worry too much about Clay, however I am extremely impatient. I hate not knowing stuff, which means that I have no problems reading the endings of books or finding out the endings of movies or shows. So I really want to know what is up with Clay. The only way I can wait for something like Christmas is because I know when it's coming. So even if Clay could give us a heads up on when, other than soon, I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't mind a "drought" if it means people dig into their photobuckets and hard drives!

So, I have a quick question: Does anyone have the full-length Kimmel Invisible when Clay was promoting ATDW? I only have the little bit before they ended the show. :( It's almost a little jarring to hear him singing Invisible looking like that--but in a good way!

I always feel as if I need to be the Devil's Advocate...

I firmly believe in "good things come to those who wait." I find that this whole fandom thing is about the journey, not the final destination. Sure, I'd love to have a hint or two about what's going on in his life and career, but at the same time...it's his life, it's his career.

Good things will happen. I have faith in Clay Aiken.

ldyj I agree with you; I don't mind when Clay is out of the public eye for a while (I really dislike the term "drought") because I know when he is back it will be worth the wait.

I really think we will be hearing something in the next couple of weeks.

Back to work for me...I really enjoyed my week off...got a lot of organizing done in the house; cleaned my room from top to bottom and found a roll of film that never got developed...going to drop it off at Wal-Mart this morning...can't wait to see what is actually on it...have a feeling it will probably be one of the kid's graduation, LOL. Hubby is still home this week, hope he gets more done in the living room. Didn't get much done last week as he spent most of it working on my Daughter's car...finally had to take it in and have it tuned up and spark plug wires replaced. He did get some drywall up, hoping it gets painted this week.

82 Days until The BAF Gala!

:yahoo:

Everyone have a great day!

Kim

preden, last year in the morning before the Gala, TBAF had a breakfast where they discussed plans for TBAF. I believe they also showed a film done by one of the guests honored by them later that evening. I'm sure someone who attended could give more details. It was limited seating so they suggested only two from each beta alpha group go.

Good morning :GM_FCA:

aikim, be careful what you get developed. After my mom died we went into the depths of the basement getting the houde ready to sell. I found a box with reels of film which were not labeled. I knew my dad used to run the films on an old projector. I decided to conver them to VHS, this was about 7 or 8 years ago. The first turned out to be my bridal shower and wedding. I was so excited because I didn't remeber it. I confidently took the other reel into the shop and asked them to convert this also. They looked a little strange when I went to pick it up. It turned out to be a porno film from the olden days. I neveer went back to that shop again. :eusa_whistle:

Had a pretty good crabcake last night at a local place. On topic: Wasn't Clay seen eating one in Baltimore a while ago?

My boring news. Today I'm actually going to try to work remotely in my pjs at least before I have to head out to paint. The IT guy found out the reason I had problems was that they had forgotten to give me access. Even I could have figured that out. :breakpc2:

Heads-up for the Gala Breakfast attendees:

Not having a good day here.....:(

After numerous (more than 4 long distance telephone calls and at least 6 emails, with no response) attempts to get a commitment from the Posta Tuscan Grille regarding our reservation for the morning of October 18th following the Gala....I have finally been able to contact the hotel General Manager and they have booked a wedding in our time slot. It seems clear to me that they took our reservation "on spec"...and when they got a better offer, they dumped us without even having the common courtesy to notify me.

I have NO idea why BAF deals with this hotel; this is exactly the kind of "service" we got last year.

:(

I apologize to everyone for this misadventure...

For those who are still interested in doing a breakfast.....shall I look for another location? Or should we forget it?

If you could give me some feedback, it would be helpful; and if anyone has any ideas as to a suitable location, that would be a huge help as well. I'm not very familiar with downtown Raleigh.

Again, my apologies!! What a screwup! :cry4:

Hey, it's not your doing. Let's not forget it--I'll help you work on a location.

ETA: I think the Sheraton is the best bet. It's within walking distance, and I've been to events there before. It's nice. They have two restaurants and also can do private events: Sheraton Raleigh.

Thanks for the offer of help, jmh123! I did think of the Sheraton, as we were there for the Gala 2 years ago and they seemed much better than the Marriott...but I had only seen an open restaurant which held about 20 people (and served breakfast) and the bar there...I'll have a look at the link, it's entirely possible we just didn't see others.

ETA.....I had to laugh a bit, the Grove Restaurant is the one I'm referring to that holds about 20 people...and their picture makes it look like it holds hundreds! But the Club Lounge looks like it might just work....I've sent an email. Cross your fingers.

Thanks FromClayGary. I hope these calls are free for you. If not let one of us do the calling.

And by the way, who would have a wedding that early and on a Sunday? Here comes my feminist side. If it were a group of businessman do you think they would have cancelled?

But more importantly:

Happy Birthday Kandre!

Oh, I'm emailing at this point....but thanks for the offer! I do have a long distance plan, so unless I get put on hold interminably it's not a big deal.

I think the wedding folks likely are doing the same thing we were~a post-event breakfast. So there'll be a wedding party AND the Gala at the hotel on Saturday night! That should be just heaven. Or not. I can't begin to tell you how disgusted I am with this hotel.

{{FromClaygary}} How frustrating. I hope you are able to work something out that will be even better :) Have you considered informing Aaron or someone at BAF about their treatment of this situation over the past two Galas?

Here is a new picture I saw at OC with Reed & Clay posted on Reeds FB.

From EuroDisney I think -

Eeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! EXACTLY what I needed today, to see Clay's smiling face! :) Looks like they had fun! They look so disgustingly normal  I'm glad he has the opp to do things like that somewhere he's not always recognized.

ETA:  what's with our guy in the sweater and long jeans....and the rest in shorts and T's??? :hysterical:

Several of us let Aron know of our experiences with this hotel last year, which were also baaaaaad. I'm HOPING the hotel comp'd them for the venue this year, they screwed up so bad last year.

If there's an opportunity to let Aron know about our experience without sounding like the cranky old bag I am (cuz, after all, it isn't anythng to do with BAF) I definitely will.

Actually, Reed has his jacket in his lap*. I think our Carolina Guy has thinner blood than the Minnesota Dewd.

:onFire: vs. :freezing:

(*I recognize the striped sleeve from other pictures of Reed wearing the same sweatshirt. Yeah, I don't wanna know what that says about me. )
