Ok, it's starting to hit me. I'm not going to a concert. That is totally, completely, absotively unacceptable.

Where's the schedule? Who's going where? How am I going to figure this out?

Hi, ya'll! It's been a ridiculously busy week at work, and I'm just geting a chance to check in. Love the concert memories and pictures!!

Hey, does anybody here like Clay's tush? Well, that's probably a stupid question. What part of Clay don't we like? Anyway, here's a loverly montage on youtube, starring Mr. Popstar's wonderful backside. Forgive me if it's already been posted, and I didn't see it. But hey, stuff like this is certainly worth lusting drooling watching more than once!

So while all y'all are goin' on about your wonderful :wordpooper: stories, memories, favs of concerts past I will just "scroll on past" 'cause I'm petty that way. No No....don't feel sorry for me. I don't want your pity. I'm not looking for a pat on the head (or behind) to soothe my empty memorybanks!

I just want to be allowed to bitch about something that, not knowing you all that well, I hope will not hit too close to home....or WalMart....or wherever you may shop.

I will entitle my little piece -

WTF ARE YOU MATES SMOKIN'?

or

OMG OMG....How Do I Alert The Local Media That I Just Heard Clay In my Supermarket's Produce Section

May I just begin by saying how I too have been stopped in my tracks by that malifulous voice in the supermarket. And yes, I was most likely standing there with a questionable look on my face all the while wondering if anybody else was "getting it". With that said, I am also aware that "Idol" compilations make the rounds at most stores whether it be Lowes, Payless, Walgreens, Raley's, Safeway or wherever. And I have even gotten a smile or a chuckle when reading someone elses account of the same encounter. Once or twice. BUT NOT EVERYTIME I OPEN A THREAD THAT READ "I HEARD CLAY SING TO ME FROM THE CHARMIN"! UGGHHH

I want to scream "quick Clay, get outta Dodge before the sheriff get's wind of this". The media would have a field day if they ever came upon these mentions with the unbridled enthusiasm and frequency as my daughter reporting to me on the latest sale of all things studded at Hot Topic!!

I mean, I've heard Bootsy Collins in Old Navy from time to time but I can't think of any reason why anyone would fill a page of it on a board. Any board!

Whew! I feel better. Thanks :scream:

Note from the editor -

If this in someway, anyway should feel like a personal afront to you then I appologise but no retraction shall be printed.

And....oh yah --> :DoClay:

YSRN---check your PMs, woman. I got some tickets with your name on them for So. Cal. :whistling-1: :Tour3: :TourExcite:

I was going to say the same thing - Extra CA4fer tickets here! Of course, they are all from the same lot.....

Come to California YSRN! I too would love to meet you!

And, we probably still have room in our vehicle as we rented a minivan to be our Claymobile!

We really should plan an FCA get together for sometime in California!

That popsicle quiz was strange! According to it, I am a 1054171862_quizcherry.gif

Doesn't sound like me at all (although it was always my favorite flavor - well, next to a fudgesicle).

Muski - How did Carrie's team do?

This was a totally unproductive day for me. I watched the Phillies lose and then decided to go to the mall to look for Clay clothes. I hate shopping because I always come back with NOTHING!

LESS THAN 2 WEEKS UNTIL CLAY!!!! Woo the Hell Hoo!!!

oy. :scream:

FIrst game...we made two horrendous defensive errors in the first inning---other team scored two runs and then neither team scored for 3 more innings. Time running out. Next at bat. Two outs. Somehow...we got the bases loaded! Then the next batter hit a freakin' triple! Three runs scored! We were ahead 3-2! Then damn if we didn't get an insurance run and then it was 4-2 us! Other team up...got one runner on base but then we got 'em out and won the freakin' game!

Unreal.

Then...our next game was against the team that ranked fifth in the country in the age group last year. They slaughtered us. Carrie not consistent, defense sucked, no bats present. We were being shut out until the very last inning and got four runs. Lost shamefully.

Third game. Awful, awful. We lost. Still can go to regionals...but all that means is that we'll be facing the best of the various regions so......you know, you think you're good until you become the little fish in the big pond.

Oh well...at least I can sleep in tomorrow!

Falling asleep at the keyboard...talk to y'all tomorrow! :F_05BL17blowkiss:

Claygasm No, a cherry popsicle doesn't sound like you. Not that you're not very, very nice, but you're not sickly sweet. Having spent a little time with you, I can vouch for just a very nice person without a hint of the "sickly sweet, it's almost annoying" in you.

Muski Well, if the results of today's games mean that you have a better chance of getting down to the southern Cal concerts then I'm glad they only won one. Is that bad?

 Pretty funny!

Yay, muski... that would be cool, thank you! I'll carry on in the Summer Tour thread... details, details! And yes, yes, yes on the meeting new folks and squeezing my butt in the minivan!!! Thanks for all the enabling, everyone! It would be nice to pull off the whole weekend - I really hope I can.

Hee, jmh! You know me too well to be getting worried about me like that! :F_05BL17blowkiss: I wish I could do Raleigh so I could come see you! This will be my first tour without going East. I just couldn't pull it off, dad-gummit!

I can't believe all the nothing I did today myself. Yammered on the phone, sat out in the sun reading gardening magazines, watched some Yankees/Giants baseball - 13 innings is just too damn many. baseball.gif Cleaned off the deck; that was productive! Watered stuff. Nothing too exciting, that's for sure. vacuumsm.gif

Sorry about your garage sale rain, Clayzor!

Glad you found a concert YSRN............... I will try my luck, again, today for trying to sell some more stuff. One nice thing happened though. A nice, good lucking young man stopped at my sale who happens to repair roofs and does construction work. Did I mention that this has been an extremely expensive year for hubby and I? Hee We desperately need a new garage roof. It is leaking everywhere. One reason I needed to have a sale. Clean out the garage to have room to work. Between garage roof, the house plumbing leak, and cancer surgery, I need to take on two more jobs. Yikes. I bet this will cost us around 5,000.00 for sure. Anyway he is going to bring over the bid today. Looks like a bank loan is in order. I just don't live right I guess. :cryingwlaughter:

I loved reading all the favorite concert experiences of everyone, and I love that Clay's butt emoticon too, YSRN.............

I guess my best concert experience is two concerts. AI2 when Clay autographed my Rollingstone, both pictures. Then a concert in Omaha, at the Q-West Center, where my friend and I got front row seats. Clay came to our side of the stage and sat on the speaker and sang for about 5 minutes. Right in front of our eyes. I had two cameras going trying to take pictures, that close up. How stupid. I should of said forget the pictures and just soak up the presence of him, without all of the work. I had hauled around a carrot cake, I made from scratch to give Clay, for two days. LOL I think he got it, but I have since learned he doesn't care that much for cakes. I bet someone enjoyed it, though, because if I do say so myself I make a mean carrot cake. Looking back at that makes me laugh now, for being so silly. I thought the way to a man's heart was through his stomach. Silly me. The way to a man's heart is through his penis. *Smacks forehead* and makes a mental note to remember that if I get that close to Clay again. :whistling-1:

Unproductive weekend here so far, too. Yesterday I got woken up at 4 am by some thoughtless neighbours standing outside on the sidewalk, having a rather loud argument. Never did get back to sleep from that, so got up around 5:30 am and watched some clack. Found myself back in bed by 9:30 am trying to catch up. Went grocery shopping around 11:30 am, got home and just started to relax when son #2 announced that he'd invited his friends to come with us to the beach. So we all hopped in the car and drove for an hour so that these 3 teenagers could freeze their asses off in 50 degree water for a few minutes. They filled their bellies with fries and ice cream, though, which enabled me to head out to dinner later with cindilu2 and not have any tagalongs for once. We filled our bellies with crab legs. YUMMMMMMMMM.

Later we went and saw that new 1408 movie. All I can say is, I'm never staying in a room of that number. Anywhere, not even for Clay. :cryingwlaughter:

I guess my best concert experience is two concerts. AI2 when Clay autographed my Rollingstone, both pictures.

Aaaaaaaaaah, I'm so jellus. I took my Rolling Stone and a sharpie to my one and only AI2 concert, too. Stood out at the fence after the concert, right at the front. Each idol came out and most were very friendly, posing for pictures and signing autographs. Ruben came out to a bit of excitement. Then Jerome escorted Clay over. OMFG, it was Beatlemania all over again. I couldn't believe it (except of course, I could). I felt as though I'd been slammed by a freight train from behind. I lost my footing and went down, dropping my camera over the fence. My face was smushed into my friends back (when moments before I'd been beside her). I saw Clay's feet and heard his voice thanking people for coming. And then Jerome hauled him away before someone got killed. So no Rolling Stone autograph for me. However, my friend did manage to snap this picture.

Scan313_small.jpg

treenuts, hee, you are funny. I have to understand the excitement, because I've been known to post about hearing Clay in the grocery store myself, but rarely does anyone get excited for me or with me. Rant away.

I can't wait until our concert virgins are able to regale us with their own favourite concert moments.

:Tour3: :TourExcite:

ETA: Just had to add this on my return from yet another grocery store. No, I have no idea whether they played Clay because I had my iPod on. But I just couldn't believe what happened beforehand....I stopped off at a Starbuck's to get a chai tea, and handed the girl my preloaded Starbuck's card. It just so happens to have a picture of Macca on it, since he is their big promotion right now. She took it, and said "what a stupid expression he has on his face. Makes me want to rip the card in half." I said "ah, I think it's cute!" She says "oh...you like Paul McCartney?" and then went off on a rant about how much she dislikes him because he is mean and nasty. Apparently she is from Newfoundland and she met him at some sort of a "save the animals" type event there.....I know he's visited various places in his quest to stop animal slaughter....and while I can understand that she might have found him "mean and nasty" if she was involved with the group who was opposing his views....I just couldn't believe she would be spouting her opinions about it to random customers at Starbuck's.....where Paul is supposedly being "promoted". Pissed me off. So I set the iPod to my "Best of Macca" playlist to feel better, and hit the grocery store.

Favorite concert moments - has to be a tie between 9-1-05 JBT in Atlantic City and KS City JNT05. In Atlantic City, I could not believe the energy! As Claygasm said earlier, he was so ON! It was the first Clay concert I'd ever been to where I wasn't thinking "Come back Clay!" as he walked off stage - of course, that came later *g* but as it ended, all I could feel was the pure joy and energy from everyone else there. BFM was totally rocking and his signed thank you after TRD was so special - and I loved it as we sang along during ANMHE and he just sat down and let us sing

The KS City JNT05 means a lot to me because I'm a member of the fan club that planned and put together the holding up of candles during DSIAFCD - which turned out to mean a lot to Clay after what had happened the night before at Council Bluffs, when Jacob left the tour midway through the show (I was there for that show too and another amazing concert moment - Clay's first performance of Emmanuel - 3rd row - incredible!!). To see him tear up, and grab Quiana and Angela's hands when they saw the candles, made us feel like we had really done something right. I know it was controversial for many of the fans, but in the end it meant a lot to Clay, so it meant a lot to us too.

The eyes, yes the eyes. I swear when i had my meet and greet that's all I saw was the eyes. Didn't even notice the glasses he was wearing either. :cryingwlaughter:

Couch Tomato, I enjoyed reading about jazzersize. You just may inspire me to make a move ... toward the stationary bike or something. :cryingwlaughter:

Every year that I have a cath procedure -- and Tuesday marks the third in a row -- we are under a Mercury Retrograde. Crossing my fingers, there will be no problems. The results determine a possible trip to the Knoxville concert. :)

Good luck Caro with your procedure.

And yeah two days later my thighs, my thighs!

Janice/Jamie? Probably bad reporting

So...regarding M&Gs....should I be working the "power of positive thinking" angle, or the "I'm not going to get one" angle in order to get a M&G?

The no way in hell angle worked for me.

Hee. I went straight into the petty and juvenile "It will be the same 6 people that already have met Clay thirty-seven times each so why am I even bothering" sulking mode. I hoping to work my way up into actually being as mature as 12-year-old someday... :P

BWAH that might work too.

Hmmmm. Clay is off that week. Maybe I'll keep my eyes open for a guy in a bucket hat....

One week from today will be the last day our business will be, well, in business.

OOOh so glad you're going to see this. Can't wait to hear what you and Play have to say about this extravaganza.

Good luck with whatever devleopments are happening with the business. A soft place to land would be nice even if for the short term. You'd at least get to concentrate on concert season which lasts what..the rest of the year? :cryingwlaughter:

So, as to not cause whiplash, WARNING: DETOUR AHEAD

I got a smile/smirk out of this today -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YatIpGHr020

SHUT UP!

Bwah -- and it is full of spinning balls

I have a small favor to ask, seeing as I had a diagnostic test today that required fasting yesterday and drinking a liquid - can we not use the word stool? maybe armless chair?

Ahhh LOL

"Sex on an armless chair" hmmmmmmm

Hows about "orgasm on an ottoman"?

Could work

heee yes it could

Loved reading about the favorite concert moments - from the personal, to something Clay did (breathing worked for most hee). Ansa loved your first concert report... and look soon you will have 5 under your belt. It's also hilarious how I shared the air with so many of you at concerts and didn't know you.

and I'm going to be on a plane for Xmas aren't I. Since our company "closes down" for the last two weeks of the year I think I'll just plan to go to wherever the last one is.

Ok...catchin' up and then scrolled right by all the techie talk---I ain't a mod anyhoo...

don't tempt me Muski!

Sorry about your garage sale Clayzor... nobody likes delayed gratification!!

Ok, it's starting to hit me. I'm not going to a concert. That is totally, completely, absotively unacceptable.

Where's the schedule? Who's going where? How am I going to figure this out?

Well somebody's popsicle got it right!!

Personal whining alert: What the hell. I have never had allergies, sinus problems in my life. I took such pleasure in that considering my entire family can turn into an itchy scratchy mess. I can't believe I too this year have been hit with this. I can't stand it. IS there anything to do but take benydrl or claritan or whatever. YUCK!

No.

And I can't even take Benydrl or anything like it because it knocks me out for days and I can't take stuff like Sudafed because it makes me light-headed. So I spend the spring and summer with varying degrees of sinus pain, watery eyes and headaches.

BWAH to KAndre's popsicle! How perfect! It scares me, though, that according to mine, I am supposed to take advise from her!

I have been really wondering a lot lately what Clay may be doing during that 10-day gap between Tulsa and Philly. Was that planned? Did it just work out that way? Is he doing something super seekrit that will make him the biggest superstar on the planet? Is he just having a long booty call break?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Claritin without the D works for me. I can't stand the hyped-coma (yep, at the same time) I get from Benadryl or Claritin-D or Sudafed or any of that other crap. But straight Claritin (or Loratadine) from the drugstore works for me with none of those side-affects.

I'm going through exactly the same thing this year. Never ever had to deal with this before and I have a real family history. I take the 24 hr non-drowsy Loratadine right before bed. Seems to help.

Wow for the Double Dates w/the Minnesota Symphony! That's drivable for me. We'll have to see how it shakes out tho'. Don't forget Mpls/St. Paul is the 16th-largest metropolitan area in the country. And they have a history of supporting the arts. And they love them some Winter, especially around Christmas time.

I think he'll do great! :RedGuy:

I've been taking Claritan since March this year, and it's been amazingly helpful. I ran out of it for a few days, and my eyes and nose were sooooo irritated and itchy. Went right back on it soon as I could get to the store.

Hey, I'm a grape popsicle, too! They have another quiz over there to find out what kind of kisser you are. I think I'll check it out.

ETA: Okay, here's my kissing personality:

You're a multiple-personality kisser.

Your kisses vary greatly, depending on whose lips you're kissing. Some people bring out your silly, flirty side, and others make you feel all shy and romantic. You're flexible kiss-wise, so you're not picky about firmness or tongue action. The act of kissing is all it takes to make you happy, so you almost never get critical or make demands. You just take a deep breath and let your lips do their thing.

Funny!! I'll have to ask hubby if he agrees. But kissing makes me think about these, and when I look at them, I think I would be pretty demanding:

If that picture inspires you to find out what kind of kisser you are, the quiz is here:

I can't wait either. I have stolen a post/quote from drmchaser614 over at CH to provide a more susinct and visually stunnng picture of how that one special moment in my solo concert experience would play out. I hope she will forgive me for stealing her thoughts :)

quote:

claycherie, I have a similar dream. Greek Theatre, darkened stage, DF strides out to sit behind the grand piano, a hush falls over the crowd as a single spotlight reveals Clay sitting on a stool....

I suddenly, unexpectedly broke down in tears when I read this. Yah I know, I'm a mess!! :fca:

OMG...............Those lips, those lips. Clay baaaaby thSmack.gif

My results:

You're a sensitive kisser.

You don't want to scare people away by being more or less aggressive than they're used to, so you adapt your kisses to match any situation. If you sense that the person you're kissing wants more tongue pressure or more hair-stroking, you'll eagerly comply. You appreciate when the people you kiss tell you exactly what they like, because then it's easier for you to make them happy. Your only kissing requirement? Lots of privacy. :eusa_whistle: Are you reading this Clay?

Pudding, I was at that concert in Kansas City. Holding my candle sky high with pride. It was a special moment. I was so glad that we had the lights to show our support for Clay. I for one was glad to see Jacob gone.

Sinus issues - I take two things - one when I am coming down with a cold, because If I get a cold I am done for weeks - that is Zicam nose swabs (not the spray!!!!!!!) After 2 or 3 days, any hint of a cold is gone.

FOr my allergies and sinus infections - I carry around saltwater spray, you can make your won (recipe is somewher on line) or you can buy the cheap generic spray from your local food store. Cleaning the nose a few times a day makes you more comfortable and the salt interfers with bacteria or viruses. If you are really miserable and you can find a doctor who will still do it, get your sinuses washed out with salt warter, most doctors no longer do it though for reason I don't understand. I felt great for months after they did that to me. But it was part of an after surgery, and they won't do it just to do it, but man it feels great.

I don't know. I kind of miss Jacob. I have never joined in on the Jacob done Clay wrong train because frankly, to the best of my knowledge, we have no idea exactly what happened. I never even got the impression there was any ill-will between them after all that. Some bruised egos maybe, but that was all. I have always thought that if Clay ever decides he needs a male back-up again (which I think he does need....), it wouldn't surprise me if Jacob returned.

I always thought it was the usual fan concept that someone, in this case Jacob, must have done something to hurt Clay. Soon, it took on a life of its own! For all we know, Clay knew before the concert started that Jacob would be leaving after intermission.

The candles were nice and I am sure Clay appreciated them, but I am not sure there was anything Clay needed support for. JMO and all, and if I missed Clay saying something that directly addressed the situation other than what was in his blog, then please tell me.

I have been known to miss key bits of information before.
