keepingfaith, we just recently switched over to Comcast a few weeks back and thus far NO problems. In fact it has been a bit faster.

Ansa, I've been thinking (shut-up) and what if? someone whose trying to register is mistaken for a spam bot? Ala Blade Runner, you know where the "replecants" sometimes weren't aware they were not human. Maybe they can't respond like a regular person and somehow can't get through the process. OMG then..... panic sets in 'cause ya know "Clay is just days away and I NEEDTA talk about him... and... and" ....... well, now I have officially lost my mind. Just 5 days eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

As for a producer I read somewhere, maybe not on this board, the name Jack White came up. Wow, now there's a reach but it does make for an interesting thought to digest. He does have a grammy and he IS CERTAINLY ECLECTIC enough. I just get little goosie bumps thinking of what he might do with someone like Clay. *suddenly hears the twilight zone theme in her head do do do do do do do do*

A huge THANK YOU to all who provided some great avi's/gifs. They are all "must haves"! Except I, being the so not techie that I am, spent about an hour late last night trying to load one of those babies into my avi space and (to no surprise to me) had zero success. Another WAHHHHH!!

So can someone take pity on me and give me the ABC's of what I should be dooing.

yup treenut...that was a concern of ours too that is why for the longest time we resisted the need to make this two step process. We do some research on the name first before we delete it...and if we still make a mistake they can contact us through FCA website. We have contact info there.

BTW...will pm you about your other problem.

DON'T GO HOME yet - soon there will be an interview posted!

I have comcast at the beach - since cable is frequently out there and electricity is frequently out there, I accept that internet will be frequenly out there. I think it is the salt air and probably cheap wiring, since the lines come down in the storms, heck the island is breached in 5 places during bad storms. When a storm is predicted, I pack up and leave.

Is there a rain date for Frisco?

Is there a flood date for Frisco?

It seems more rain is predicted this week for the Dallas area.

I've been keeping in touch with Olivia from the Houston Press off and on the last couple of months. She's the one who planned the Clay art contest for people to enter and then the prize was going to be to give tickets to a deserving child to go see Clay.

When I saw the nice big ad in their paper about Clay performing with the Houston Symphony, I emailed her and thanked her and then asked about the art contest.

She emailed me back just a few minutes later, and here is what she said in her email:

"What! You're talking to Clay!!!! Whoa!!! Well, give him my number and tell him to call me!!! LOL!!"

Well, when she wrote back, she said that she had a 15 minute interview with Clay (and he told her he was in his pajamas! LOL!! Are we surprised??!!) and the interview is going to be put online as a podcast for us to listen to!!! WOO HOO!!! :woo hoo Isn't that exciting!! She said that we are gonna love it too. She also knows what the surprise project he's had Jesse working on, but she wouldn't tell me. But she said that Clay is really excited about it. Oh well, we'll know soon enough. She said Clay was really sweet (of course I already knew that!). She told me that it was funny that I should e-mail her while she was on the phone with Clay...that I must have been feeling her "Clay" vibe! LOL!! .... By the way, she knows I'm writing all this to yall. I asked her if it was okay before I did.

The other neat thing is that she does have two concert tickets, a gift card to Outback Steakhouse, to make it be "dinner and a show.", and a Houston Press t-shirt to give to a deserving child. She said that they wanted a deserving kid to get the tickets.

I called Sunshine Kids for her and if it all works out a child from there (cancer kids) and an adult will go to Clay's concert!! This is near and dear to my heart since I had cancer as well. (First she tried Make-a-Wish but that didn't work out.) She told Clay about the art contest and the child going to the concert. Not sure what he said about that yet. I guess the podcast will tell us!!

Speaking of the art contest, the winner will be announced on either Friday (today) or Monday. The drawing will run in the newspaper (provided they get permission from the artist) on Thursday. I can't imagine that the winning artist won't give permission for their picture to be in the newspaper!

And I spoke with her today and she's coming to our Houston pre-party too!! I'm excited to meet her. And maybe she'll have a write-up in the paper about the party and our fundraising for Bubel Aiken!! And she will also be at the concert. I told her how wonderful Clay fans are and how much she is going to love the concert and how Clay not only sings gorgeously but is an awesome entertainer and how he banters and picks at the fans and how much we love it!

She's going to give me the link to the podcast and we'll get the winner's name on here. I'm just so excited I'm about to burst!!!

Spambots suck. I had to "break" registration at getclayaiken a long time ago to deter them. I was getting 5-10 per night and they all had porn links in their profile. It's pretty easy to figure out which is which, really.

I've tried to add hacks to have real people have to provide an extra piece of info, but nothing has worked so far. It's just easier this way. I feel your pain, even though GCA is on phpBB. Good to know Invision has the same issues - well good for me because I don't have to wonder if it would be easier. LOL!

keepingfaith, your post made me smile so hard this morning. I love how excited you are, and I LOVE knowing that you won't be disappointed. No matter how much Clack you've seen, or how many times you listened to him sing, there is nothing, and I mean nothing, like the electricity in the air when he takes that stage. He was born to be there! You are in for the ride of your life!

To offer some hope to my fellow Texans, I have Comcast internet and it's working fine out here in Katy. I was out from eleven until four so maybe it went down and it's back up now. I kind of forgot about the switch over but I've been finding my internet to be a bit slower since I've been home from Halifax. I wonder if it's me or them.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! For the podcast! I love it when he doesn't bother to get dressed to talk to me.

Lovin' al the moving avi's. If I get time this weekend I might try to upload one for shits and giggles, though I'll miss "Oh, Lord, there she is again." Clay. Concert chat sounds like fun.....I'll be there.

Well some moron split a fiber optic cable in Austin! They have re-routed and now we are all "much better now".

I would not have been a happy camper if there was no internet at home.

Houston Press! Weird free newspaper but I'll have to pick up a copy from somewhere. I hope he is in the Houston Chronicle too!

I was in a store today picking up something I was having done for the Houston partay. Well as you can imagine it is Clay related. The 18 year old kid behind the counter says how come it is Clay Aiken and not Rush or Bon Jovi? He was real cute about it. Not any diss at all just having fun and he said he wasn't his thing but he thought the guy could sing. It was nice.

I'm so glad that Comcast is working again for you Texans. We've had Comcast internet and cable TV quite awhile, and have never had a problem. Service has been great. We also have Comcast digital voice for our phone, which has also been good.

Iclicked on Playbill.com and found an ad for the Houston Jesse Jones Hall concert.He is the drummer for the Tony winning musical-Spamalot and has a rather extensive credits on Broadway as a composer and drummer.

treenut, I'm not ignoring your begging pleading request, honest. :imgtongue: My program does not work and I'm still debating downloading another one. I was using BPS Video converter and decompiler to get the photos clipped for the ani's. If anybody who makes them would let me know what they use, I'd really appreciate it (before I shell out the $$$ for this one).

eta: Okay how friggin' iCute is he? iHeart him.
