ETA: georgiesmybaby - I'm so so very sorry to read about that horrible extortion and abuse! I can't imagine how stressful this must be. I agree with you that this situation must be brought to the attention of the police. I understand that your sister is afraid, but she can't continue as she has been, and she will need help to get out of this situation. If she's immobilized by fear, perhaps she would let you call for her, and then give the phone to her once you've given the police an overview of the situation.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

georgie... go to the police with her. Take pictures of the bruises. This is criminal. It must stop. Police have fraud specialists.

Do you know anyone who knows someone in a district attorney's office. This man is relying on fear to stay safe. It won't stop until she gets help.

Does her company have an HR department? Once you have filed a complaint with the police, then they need to know. Get to a bancruptcy attorney, too. They can help keep your mom from losing your home.

Most of all, stay safe!

I think the more likely scenario is that someone who was at the party shared the password with someone else, and that person shared it with someone, and eventually it fell into the hands of someone who had an interest in the Claynation. The pictures were being passed around by fans before they were picked up by TMZ and the like, IIRC. Anyways, although I am sure that Clay did not pose for them with the intent of them being publicly available, I doubt he's losing sleep over the issue. He wasn't born yesterday, so I'm pretty sure he knew the odds of them getting out were high, what with who knows how many people at the party, many of whom were probably not even acquaintances, let alone friends, of his. The password was for the whole set of 826, not just the ones that included Clay.

Totally makes sense to meeeeeeeeeeeee, so :word: (except for the IIRC part cuz ICRS (I can't remember shit). I asked what that acronym meant like 2 days ago and ICR what it stands for cuz ICRS.

:hahaha:

I think each person who had there 6 pictures taken in the booth could get a printout of those 6 pictures. Each printout has the web address and PASSWORD printed right in the middle of it. It's no wonder that the password leaked, it was right there for anyone and everyone to see. All that would have to happen is for one sheet of pix to be shared, copied, lost & found, or stolen and it's no longer a private thing.

See? Right in the middle? It says "To see everyone's photos...?"

Yup. Was weird how they did that cuz yeah once shared, it obviously spread the wildfire. D101

Would post more often here but I have a really hard time getting used to linear threads.

Ditto. I guess I post here in fits and spurts, more when something is going on cuz I'm absolutelee a separate threads for different topics kinda gal.

just wanted to see them again without searching.

Seeeeeeeeeeee?

Of course you must go to the police, otherwise it will never stop. Is there any way you could sell up and move? Can your sister look for another job on the quiet? Drastic measures , but I think the situation calls for it.

Claytonic..just don't read the comments. You are a you tube fan..you watch a lot of Obama stuff -- nasty comments are par for the course on the internet. If they upset you don't read. It's a mean nasty world. And Jamar is right..nothing was more nasty to me than reading the espn board the last time Serena Williams won Wimbledon. Just as nasty or even more so than anything I've read about Clay. And hell the OFC sometimes is worse than any comments I've ever read and those folks LOVE Clay. Such is life.

I've certainly seen a lot of horrible comments on YouTube but they don't bother me that much, mainly because I don't bother reading them in the first place unless it is an exceptional situation.

I inadvertently ended up on the mailing list of someone who is extremely anti-Obama and anti Islam, the guy concerned is constantly trying to get people on his mailing list to believe that Obama is a closet Muslim, and even refers to him as B. Hussein Obama, to emphasize the Islamic connection. However, it would be impossible for any politician to not have opponents so although I don't like unfair negativity towards Obama, I am no longer as bothered by it now that he is sitting in the Oval Office. I don't usually allow comments from anonymous people to bother me but I decided to break with the norm and read those comments because I was wondering how people were reacting to Clay's BF who actually has a name and face and is in a photograph looking cosy with Clay . What upset me was the overwhelming number of negative comments. I didn't expect a hoard of sweet murmurings for Cleed but the scales were so heavily tipped the other way. That was the upsetting part.

georgiesmybaby the first thing that struck me was OMG, your poor sister, what agony she has endured on her own for so long. Everyone has given such good advice, the only thing to do is to get the law-enforcement involved, that is what you pay your taxes for, to receive protection from criminals. it is your right. Don't allow another day to pass without contacting the Police, the sooner you do that, the sooner you can get your situation taken care of.

Just ignore the comments on YouTube (post a good one if you like).

Most good people don't bother to comment--just the sickos.

They attack anything gay.

I just finished watching Prayers for Bobby--it was wrenching. I just keep wondering if people believe that people "choose" their sexuality, why don't they believe that they can choose their religion?

Clay must have gone through hell--and just imagine how he felt whenever anyone made the slightest suggestion he was gay and fans starting a ranting and raving campaign against those people. OR when he did Madonna's song--and he was SO funny--but he stopped doing it after there was such an uproar over his looking "gay How many times have fans showed him that being gay wasn't ok?

He must have been so frightened to tell the truth.

It hurts my heart.

I agree with so much of what you have said.

just wanted to ask something and I don't mean it rudely so many fans didn't do any of that stuff. yes a lot of fans did but I am kind of tired of hearing all Clay fans did this or that. And people come on the idol boards posting they were victorious because they knew Clay was gay. Whatever. I never agured anyone's sexuallity and I never will. And I know more Clay fans like that that that never agrued or commented on articles ect.....

however I didn't really like when Clay did that Madonna song not because it looked gay (which I think was the point) because it just was kind of bad .

I liked it better when he sang yeah & sexy back

What a horrific story! Do you know of anyone who is really big and strong who can accompany your sister to work for a few days? Until you can go thru some kind of legal channels to get this straightened out. Maybe you could find someone at a gym. Off-duty policeman? What about the Legal Aid Society (do they still exist?) Or Social Services. (grasping at straws here, I have no idea what I would do, probably run far far away and hide!!)

Would the company let your sister work in another location? Where do you live?

:hugs-1:

Thank you so much for all of your words of support and advice. It is very scary. I have been trying to convince her that she has to go to the police...she just wants it to be over. She jumps every time the phone rings. Our next door neighbor is a police detective, so I am hoping to get her to talk to him. I just wondered if anyone had any experience with this sort of thing. I tried researching on the internet but most of what I found was related to racketeering, not much on personal extortion.

Jobs are very hard to find here, especially full time jobs with benefits. Many companies are laying off or going out of business. Ditto the housing market. Despite the fact that, according to the news, we live in one of the two top zip codes for home sales, homes are not selling.

My brother is furious and wanted to confront him, but my mother talked him down by reminding him that he has a family and three small children and has no business confronting someone who is clearly violent.

Yes, I can't emphasize enough - GO TO THE POLICE! He is counting on fear to keep him safe...and he is going to continue to hurt your sister.

Or someone else.

Of course she "just wants it to stop" but if he stops abusing her he'll find another victim. Maybe she's his victim now because the last person "just wanted it to stop" and didn't call the police.

IIRC = if I recall correctly

{{{georgiesmybaby & family}}} Definitely call the police. Don't wait another minute. Unfortunately, bad people seem to frequently target those who can't or won't defend themselves. Sometimes what they need is someone else to step in and help them deal with the situation. I know your sister must be terrified, but I hope you and your family can convince her that the police ARE necessary and that there IS help out there for her.

Oh my. "Prayers for Bobby" was amazing. I'm so glad I didn't miss it.

I was disappointed that this wasn't shown on any of our channels (and I searched the listings). I hope it will be shown in future here because it sounds like a very worthwhile watch. I also received my copy of Mitchell Gold's "Crisis" from Chapters online this week, and I am looking forward to starting it.

I have always loved the Frisco clack because it was the only time he sang Like A Virgin (in all it's campy glory!) but I know many fans disliked it intensely. I remember how disappointed I was when he changed it up the next show. I just thought it was hilarious, and he pulled it off perfectly. God, I remember thinking what balls he had in doing that, with all the media speculation over his sexuality! But that's just Clay, isn't it? Fearless. Hit 'em head on. Gonna crack on my ears? I'll beat you to it. Compare me to Barry Manilow? I'll have him on my Christmas special, and cover his songs in concert.

In hindsight, I wonder how the fan fallout over that (and all that went before) made him feel, knowing what we know now. Hopefully he just laughed it off, and said to himself "they aren't ready for THAT yet!" It hurts too much to imagine him hurting, although he most certainly did. Which just makes me all the more proud of him for taking his life back in the past year or so, and doing everything he's done, knowing what he had to lose. It also makes me proud of all the fans who have stayed true and stuck around and supported him in his decisions. And that includes everyone here. So hugs all around! :friends:

So, today's the big day for my family. Brother, SIL & niece should have departed Taipei and arrived in Seoul, Korea by now, to transfer planes to Canada. Son #2 and I will be heading for Toronto shortly, and tonight we'll all be heading for the airport to meet them. Hee, I can't imagine going from a warm 60 F to a chilly 5 F. And 20 hours travelling....yikes. But EEEEEEEEEEEEE! I can't believe after 10 years we're finally going to meet my niece.

All you GFIers, safe travels! I am pumped that we managed to sponsor a junior golfer. Please keep us informed of his/her progress. And please, please, please bring back every little detail that you can about the gala, and Clay, and what he wears/says/sings/does. ;)

Is it just me or does your house have to look spotless before going on a trip?

georgiesmybaby - you have to go to the police immediately and also get a restaining order. Even at that you all will need to be very, very careful with someone like that as a restraining order is nothing more than a piece of paper a lot of crazies ignore. He needs to be locked up for a good long time to keep everyone safe. My thoughts are with all of you.

OMG, gmb! Get thee to that neighbour as fast as you possibly can~or any other police connection that will give a personal note to the complaint. Hate to say it, but it helps to know someone.

Failing that, make sure you deal with the fraud people at the police station...

AND, if this is a reputable firm, they will have a "tip hotline" for anonymous complaints, run by an outside party. CALL IT and tell them you are being victimized. They are liable for allowing this to occur and will want to mitigate that.

Research online~there will be a women's support centre somewhere close to you~it's a big city. They're used to dealing with abusive situations and will know people to contact.

Talk to claylove and see if her organization has a list of resources...I bet they do.

Gahhhhhhhhhh!!!! :cry4:

gmb..I can only join the chorus. You can't live without money. But the more important thing the STRESS and FEAR will kill you all. You must trust law enforcement in this matter. Make sure they understand the level of threats and your need for protection.

georgiesmybaby - I'm sure there are safehouses in your area, where women who are victims of abuse can stay while they are trying to figure out what to do next. The locations of safehouses are secret, so this horrible man won't be able to find her. You and your Mom could likely stay there, too, if you are afraid of being at home right now. Your police detective neighbor can likely give you a phone number for a safehouse.

Safe travels to all of those going to GFI! Have a super fantastic time!!! :golf:

luckiest, this was posted by robyn428 in the Public Access thread at CH:

was unable to watch the movie on Lifetime. However, last week I went to their site, and noticed that they had past programs available for viewing. They have this listed, but not linked yet, so I would think it will be available after the rebroadcasts.

I always thought Clay's campy LIV was not only hilarious, but him imitating

, no?

Have FUN, FCA GFI peeps! :golf:

georgiesmybaby, I can only echo everyone else - Please talk to the police! Start with your neighbor if you feel more comfortable talking with him and hopefully he can put you in touch with the right people. You - all of you - have my prayers, sweetie.

Our next door neighbor is a police detective, so I am hoping to get her to talk to him.

Is there an employee assistance programme at your sister's work? If so she should be able to get help through them.

There have been many suggestions given here so I won't reiterate them except to say go talk to your neighbour, if you trust him.

Is it just me or does your house have to look spotless before going on a trip?

Nope, not just you. I hate to come home to a messy house.

I am usually very tired on my return and it's enuf just to get unpacked.

Have a wonderful trip.
